There is no tl;dr. You need to read the whole thing. You know, if you care and want to reply.
A new forum is being created (as far as we know). A lot of the users don't like the idea. Okay, many do not like the idea. So, I'd like to talk about a personal opinion of mine on how the new forums should be structured, and well, toss around some ideas with you guys. Who knows, the staff may incorporate this if a new forum becomes fully operational.
1. The ground rules.
The rules that will apply to all boards will be simmilar/exact to what we have now. When entering the forums for the first time with a new account, you should be given an option to read the basic rules, kinda like a tutorial. No hacking, harrassing, drama, promotion, useless posts, etc.
2. The new forums structure.
I already discussed on how the "Levels" should look like, however, I may as well give my two cents on what it should look like.
The basic parts of the forums:
-General
-Levels
-Off-Topic
-Assistance
-Suggestions
-Promotion
General contains the boards:
-News
-Changelogs (Official update changelogs for GD)
-General Discussion
Levels contain:
-Sneak Peeks
-(Mega)Collabs
-Creator Contests
-Submitted Levels (This should contain sub-boards: Featured/Starred Levels, Great Levels, Good Levels, Decent Levels, Needs Improvement)
-Staff Picks
-Archived Levels (for incomplete level suggestions that were locked)
Assistance contains:
-Game Support
-Forum Support
Suggestions contain:
-Game Recommendations
-Forum Recommendations
Off-topic contains:
-Forum Games
-Lounge
Promotion should contain:
-Social Media Promotion
-Twitch Promotion
-YouTube Promotion
3. The ranking system.
The ranking system in the forums work in an unfair way, where you can ****post and get to Deadlocked. Oh, nonono. That's not how it will work. The ranks are simillar, however there are a few changes.
0 - Stereo Madness
20 - Back on Track
50 - Polargeist
150 - Dry Out
250 - Base After Base
325 - Can't Let Go
400 - Jumper
500 - Time Machine
600 - Cycles
700 - xStep
825 - Clutterfunk
950 - Theory of Everything
1075 - Electroman Adventures
1200 - Clubstep
1350 - Electrodynamix
1500 - Hexagon Force
1650 - Blast Processing
1800 - ToE 2
2000 - Geometrical Dominator
2200 - Deadlocked
HOWEVER, to prevent ****posting, each post counts as something written in over 120-130 characters. Furthermore, if your post gets deleted, your post count decreases by 1/per.
4. The moderation system.
Now, the current system shouldn't change a lot. My only suggestion is to maybe add more men(/women, sorry @rikka) to your team if necessary.
Junior Level Judge
Senior Level Judge
Head Level Judge (megaman9, in this case)
Theme Editor
Off-Topic Moderator
General Moderator
Administrator
Owner
5. The warning percentages.
The warning percentages should be displayed as a part of your profile, and values of each percentage should be discussed by the staff.
6. Signatures
Imo, it is really annoying to have a signature that is 20x bigger than your post, so I'd recommend if possible, to limit the font size of signatures and possibly the amount of characters to 200-250 max.
The post will be further expanded if necessary.
What do you guys think?
