People often view the legacy demons as this difficulty plateau that they'll never reach. It seems impossible basically, "how could I ever get there? I've only beaten easy/hard/medium demons!"
Well it's actually not as far of a journey as you might think.
When I came back to GD 1 year and 6 days ago my hardest demon was Ditched Machine and I had just beaten Sidestep as my 3rd hardest. Back then, I thought it would be an incredibly long and impossible journey to even beat list demon, and when the top 100 came out, legacy demons seemed like such a long way off. What I didn't know is that the space between Nine Circles and Necropolis was way less of a gap than what I thought, and I find it's way less of a gap than what a lot of people think.
I went through 13 different hardest demons before I beat Crimson Clutter, my first insane demon. The Lightning Road, Clubstep, Theory of Everything 2, Deadlocked, Ditched Machine, Nine Circles, Jawbreaker, Forsaken Neon, ToE II v2, Ultra Drivers, Forest Temple, Supersonic and 8o, and if you notice with some of them, quite a few are very close in difficulty. From Nine Circles to 8o, there were only 5 different rungs of difficulty, so that's only a couple real jumps I had to go through. By doing jumps, you can do it in less, and with probably less effort as well.
Take Dragon48100 for example. When I met him he was trying to beat Jawbreaker, and he finally did so after a long while. Then, for his next hardest he went for a level very close in difficulty; Blue Marine. That's just 1 difficulty rung. After that he jumped all the way up to Ultra Drivers, and then after that, Impetus, which was Stalemate difficulty. It only took 1 more jump to beat Sparklic Ocean, a level on the legacy list and now he's doing Asymmetry with 73 on it.
There really isn't as much space between Nine Circles and the legacy list as you might think, and a considerable amount of people here have beaten levels like Nine Circles and in and around that area. What it does take though, is determination. Giving up is easy, but if you can resist the urge to give up, you can get to legacy level demons. There can be trouble spots, as there always are with some levels, but it's definitely possible and not that long of a journey.
Hopefully some more people will be able to get to the higher levels of demons It would be really cool to see some new higher level players on this forum. I wanted to help people visualize the not so large gap in the pathway to insane demons.

Agreed. People should stop being afraid of putting a few thousand (or more) attempts into something they will really be proud of.

I'm an example yeet
I agree with this. The trade-off ultimately pays off in the end, as it feels much more rewarding after you finally conquer an insane demon. Sure, it'll be hard, but it's worth it.

Actually, now that I'm practicing Ultra Drivers, I noticed that it's not that much harder then Forsaken Neon. But my problem with Hard Demons is that I sometimes take too long to complete a level and usually give up on it. (Future Funk and Back on Mountain) Though, it takes way less attempts for me to complete a Demon than say Blaze does. (Jawbreaker took me several weeks and took just over 1k attempts and Blaze beat it in (I think) 2 days and took nearly 5k attempts)

For some reason, I doubt that insane demons are as simple as this thread makes them seem, but then again, I’m not close to Blaze/Cyclonic/Dragon’s level of skill, so who am I to say?
At any rate, it’ll probably be a long time before I beat Nine Circles, if ever, and I don’t think I’ll be able to do feats like Crimson Cluttet or 8o. They’re all unattainable challenges only the best of the best can beat, and I don’t think, for example, that Necropolis and Jawbreaker can be compared. Blaze stated that doing jumps makes it easier, but that’s exactly why they’re so hard: they’re not close in difficulty, you have to spend more time, beating more levels and upping your skill level before you can take on insane demons. They’re not impossible, but they’re not easy either, and I don’t think we should underrate them.
Again, I can’t even beat Sidestep, so it’s likely everything I said is wrong.

It just takes a bit of determination.
You're actually closer to Nine Circles than you think really. I'd recommend beating Deadlocked, then going for Ditched Machine and then Nine Circles. That's what I did.

I beat Deadlocked like 3000 years ago Nine Circles..... idrk, but I can do each part individually, but putting them all together would take me at least 5 months as for DM....... never tried it

I beat Nine Circles when my hardest demons were Deadlocked and Solar Circles. Nine Circles isn't really much of a jump from Deadlocked (unless if you're going for the coins in NC). OT: So far, I'm still trying to jump from Jawbreaker to Firewall. I know it will be easier to make smaller jumps but I'm pretty much stuck with Firewall since I haven't really gotten any good progress in any level between those two demons in difficulty (except maybe Hallucinations which isn't really as fun to play). Side Note: I honestly need to stop planning ahead on what demons to beat after Firewall so I can concentrate on beating it.

I could not agree more. I think people tend to be afraid of breaking away from the middle ground. Don't be afraid to get a little out of your comfort zone attempts wise and stop being so afraid of legacies and such.

As my holidays are coming up soon, I want to beat Alt F4 and a few other demons around that range of difficulty. I haven't progressed much lately and thats really because I do a full practice run of a level and go 'Wow, that's harder than I expected'. Recently I tried practicing Nemesis but the first UFO annoyed me and I stopped playing it. I want to have a wider range of demons that I can complete so I can play new levels that come out and complete, and also beat more weekly demons as I only have 4 at the moment plus 3 more demons which were weekly but I didn't beat at the time.

Honestly, if not the input delay in the game that demotivates me, I'd probably already be slaying hard demons daily and attempting to beat an insane demon. Unfortunately in the recent like 1-2 months the game started to be so janky that it responds to my clicks with varying delays, and that's unacceptable when trying to beat an insane demon where I need to be precise with my clicks.
