We've all seen games that have left a huge impact on the internet, and how everyone played them including youtubers, how they created huge fanbases etc. For example, we've had Undertale, FNAF, Doki Doki, Fortnite, etc. A recent addition to this chain of events is Baldi's Basics. Today I'm going to talk about the game in general, the story and why it's a horror masterpiece.
Spoilers ahead!
The Start Screen.
Opening the game we're greeted with a warning for epileptic people and children. Passing on from the warning we are met with a start screen which makes the usual player cringe because the whole title screen is made of a png image, comic sans title and writings, and other iffy things. This is a weird startup scene because it makes you think it's just a failed bootleg educational game.
The Story and Gameplay.
After we click play we see a text representing the storyline. Your friend has forgotten his notebooks at school, but he can't go back because he'll be late for eating practice. So you will go and get his notebooks. Upon getting in the school you are greeted by Mr Baldi, a bald and weird looking man who will give you math trivia everytime you get a notebook because he likes doing that. So the game is played in first person. You have an inventory of three places, which you can get chocolate bars, soda and quarters. You can also get door locks and keys. In the school you are also greeted with four exits and a labyrinth corridor. There's also the detentioner who will give you some seconds of detention everytime he sees you run or jump, the rope girl who will make you do 5 rope jumps in place, brush who will push you or character with it on its way, and bully who will take an item from you.
What makes it so amazing.
When I first played this game, I played it from a basic person's aspect. To be honest, when you start the game it gives you an uneasy feeling, and when you get the first wrong answer through the glitch question, Baldi will start chasing you. This in itself gives me such a unpleasant feeling when he slaps his stick while following me.
It is one of the creepiest games I've ever played. In addition to that, to a gamer like me it is also pretty hard when you get all 7 of the notebooks because you have to check all of the exits with all of these monsters following you.
I could make an entire 2000 essay just for this game. But I'd like each of you to play it yourself. Do you agree with me or do you think otherwise? In my opinions, it's one of the most controversial games right now, and it deserves to be looked upon more.
