So, today I was bored and came across the thought of monetizing GD levels. What I mean by that is that the creator may be able to insert their credit card ID number in GD (im not familiar with credit cards but it should be made in a way that hackers may not recieve personal information) and upon getting a featured level, creators will be rewarded a dollar for 100000 or 50000 downloads. However I would not enable it for pre-update levels (the update where this engine is implemented, the same way as the mana orbs mechanic) and only allow post-update creators to earn revenue, because otherwise Cody would be able to get 2000 dollars only for a level lol. So what do you guys think about this idea? In my opinion it would have advantages and disadvantes as well. Advantages would be for making young creators experienced with what work (as in jobs and the way we earm money) will be like in their future, and we would probably be seeing some better levels. Disadvantages would be hackers or mischievers taking their way into the credit card and using it. I am very sure that this idea will not be implemented but I would like to read your thoughts on this idea.

Robtop will get sued for taking people's credit card information and using it to find the information to find little boys and ask for nudes.
(Maybe not that last part)

First off, wrong board.
I don't really like that idea. If they want money, they can just upload previews and gameplay on youtube and earn money that way. Google is a multimillion dollar company and they can afford paying youtubers, RobTop cant afford paying creators.

This should be in game suggestions, and it's not a good idea IMO. This would make creators rush their levels even more which would result in rather bad levels. Also, bots would be a huge problem.

(upon getting your level featured) Also maybe the second one is a problem but imo it should be implemented in a way that you only insert the ID number of the card and nothing else, because it would only be a trouble if you inserted the wrong ID number, because you wouldn't have given enough information for the card information to be revealed. I don't know anything about credit cards tho so your second statement might be true. (I don't know how to multiquote sorry) For Evan's response, I said above that you might not be revealing information? If credit cards can work like that yes. Lazar- It's not the wrong board because its not a suggestion, it's an idea but i don't really suggest it, do I? A- The second point is actually true, I didn't think about that. |

IMO it's not really high as we're not seeing a lot of very good levels recently, maybe this mechanic should be based on likes? I'm not entirely sure but maybe that way the revenue would be based on the quality of the level and not the fans of the creator.
Anyhow the competition can be viewed in many perspectives so I can't say anything subjective about that. |

Bad idea, and with GD’s poor security anyone’s credit card information could get leaked, which is a much bigger problem than leaked account info.

You give your credit card info if you want to BUY something, if you want to recieve money, you can give current account number.

This would be catastrophic. Credit card numbers would be leaked, there would be identity fraud, people would use download bots, RobTop likely couldn't sustain paying creators money. Overall, he could run out of money, he could get sued, face serious legal issues, and destroy the game.

its a good idea on paper, but with gds piss poor security it really isnt possible at the moment. maybe somewhere in the near future
