Mind you, creators being able to get profit off of their work may actually be beneficial.

I don’t like this at all. While it could be used to help people get rewarded for their work, Robtop would have to implement ads in the full version to get more money to actually fund the monetization, and I have some doubts about him being able to protect people’s credit card info since he’s barely able to protect GD accounts.

A way for creators to live off of what they're doing would be amazing, but in order for it to work we would have to do a "major league creating" or something

are you REALLY that certain robtop could make it so peoples fucking credit cards aren't reachable? i highly doubt that, plus he can barely keep regular things safe let alone personal details.

So, today I was bored and came across the thought of monetizing GD levels. What I mean by that is that the creator may be able to insert their credit card ID number in GD (im not familiar with credit cards but it should be made in a way that hackers may not recieve personal information) and upon getting a featured level, creators will be rewarded a dollar for 100000 or 50000 downloads. However I would not enable it for pre-update levels (the update where this engine is implemented, the same way as the mana orbs mechanic) and only allow post-update creators to earn revenue, because otherwise Cody would be able to get 2000 dollars only for a level lol. So what do you guys think about this idea? In my opinion it would have advantages and disadvantes as well. Advantages would be for making young creators experienced with what work (as in jobs and the way we earm money) will be like in their future, and we would probably be seeing some better levels. Disadvantages would be hackers or mischievers taking their way into the credit card and using it. I am very sure that this idea will not be implemented but I would like to read your thoughts on this idea. Say that to RobTop. |

First off, wrong board. I don't really like that idea. If they want money, they can just upload previews and gameplay on youtube and earn money that way. Google is a multimillion dollar company and they can afford paying youtubers, RobTop cant afford paying creators. They need 10,000 subscribers first tho. |
