Its been a while since my last thread lol, anyways im here to rant about 2.2 (i made the exact same thread about 2.1 11 months ago). The thing is that, geometry dash will not be the same after this update, lemme explain:
Camera controls are super bad, they change gd's mechanics too much, i dont like them, also, they could be used to add difficulty to a demon (if you try to straight fly having your game super small is 10x harder than str8 flying normally). So in my opinion they are bad and cancerous, also, i already had an headache watching at 2.2 videos on yt.
Reversed orbs: you cant understand when an orb/pad will flip you or not, and this will be pretty cancerous in levels, i mean, in 4 star levels you actually see where you are going, but easy demons and more difficult ones will be aids to play because you will require at least 2 practice runs if not more.
Random trigger: i actually dont know if this will be implemented in 2.2 or it was just a *RANDOM* idea, but it is as aids as reversed gameplay, if not more.
I am not following the gd scene too much, so i am obviously missing something, but the point is, that gd will be different (in a bad way) after this update, i want the old gd.

Its been a while since my last thread lol, anyways im here to rant about 1.0,
And do you see why your argument is completely and utterly invalidated yet, or do I have to wave a few more glowing red neon signs at you? I'll do so anyway since evidently you haven't changed from 2.1. Saying 2.2 is bad because it has changed and you don't like change is such a terrible argument. find something actually reasonable to grasp and hate first before throwing out stupid points like this Everything you have said could be applied to every change made since 1.0. Everyone thinks the game will be broken when the next new feature is added until, surprise surprise, it isn't, and people will find ways to make those features great. And if you aren't willing to accept change, that's totally fine. Sit by, and complain some more. The world will progress, and people will continue making good and fun levels. It's all to your detriment. The onus is on you to exact good upon seemingly negative changes, but it seems like you are adamant on remaining the staunch complainer who does not help the situation. Good for you. The onus is on you to find objective flaws and not things which hurt your feewings, but it seems like you are adamant on using subjectivity and personal preference to bolster your claims. And in the end, it is you who will make the choice to be someone proactive, or be one of those people who never accomplish anything of note and lose out to complaining about the better times of a past that was made up due to a personal unwillingness to make something good out of change.

This just sounds like a bad "Oh no, the second 2.2 is released GD is gonna get ruined, all levels will be terrible ! C'mon, really? Nothing terrible is going to happen. Yes, some levels will use the 2.2 functions quite badly, especially seeing how game-changing they will be, and even some popular creators' (Serponge, Viprin, Darwin) first or second levels won't be as good since they'll still be learning how the new stuff will work, but after some months I'm sure we'll be treated with some of the best and most original levels the community has seen. Please, don't panic, everything will be alright

If Camera Controls really are bad, they’re going to fade away into obscurity like Mirror Portals. Secondly, by logic, only good levels would be sent to Rob by the mods, so that should eliminate a lot of the trigger happy levels where the controls are abused (although he has rated some questionable levels in the past.) Secondly: I like the camera controls because (in my opinion) having another form would be problematic. If the trend of “new form every major update” keeps going, we’ll eventually have twenty forms, and a new player would have difficulty mastering each and every one of them. About the random trigger: I highly doubt that levels that use the random trigger combined with gameplay will get rated. If I recall, Rob wouldn’t rate some of Stormfly’s “hell levels” because of annoying gameplay, and in that case, he wouldn’t rate these types of levels either. And nothing is wrong with randomized decoration. But I will have to agree with you that it seems like these triggers are too game changing as people still haven’t learned to use these triggers yet, as all the 2.2 layouts I’ve seen seem to be 99% memory. The SubZero Levels used fewer triggers than most of these layouts, and, unlike the layout levels, actually are fun to play. For example: Some of this layout is fine but most of it moves too fast/has too many moving objects/bad transitions/overall confusion on where to go next.

(i'm parroting most of durian's points, i'm sorry)
Trust me when I saw we are in an era where creating has never been as free as it is right now with the abundance of new features and triggers alongside other additions as well. You have to understand that back then in previous updates, we didn't have this freedom. We didn't have the luxury and we sure as hell didn't have anything to work off of so to completely write off an update because "things will be different" makes you look like a complete nonce. We didn't have the unlimited colour channels back in previous updates, we didn't have preview mode and we sure as hell didn't have the amount of block variety we have today so you being so adamant against change simply on the basis of 'it's bad' is ignorant.
Not to mention, yes, things will be abused but when you look at it, it's INEVITABLE! New features have always been abused with the coming of every update, I remember when directional portals were abused back in 1.7 but no, ONLY NOW DOES IT MAKE A NEGATIVE EFFECT. You have to understand that it's a trend for things to be abused before good usage of said features become promoted overtime. It baffles me how completely blind you are to this trend.
And before you go ahead and write me off as a hater because I disagree, I've been playing this game since 1.7 so I'm speaking this from experience and not from my own ass.

Of course, every new feature in every new update is prone to 'abuse'; that's just the nature of GD. But this doesn't mean that the new features will only be abused; they will also be used in good ways. And think about it, although Rob most certainly rates the wrong kind of levels sometimes; would he really rate a level which used the new features in the worst way imaginable? Also, the thing you said about GD not being the same after this update is completely true, but it has been the same with every update.
1.7 was the last good update

When GD doesn't do much: GD is becoming boring, the same stuff all the time is tiring, I'm quitting GD!! When GD tries to do something else: This update is going to doom the game! It totally ruins the essence, I'm quitting GD!!

I've a feeling you were calling stuff bad without specifying too much because I couldn't see much reasons. Yeah, they may make levels harder but it really depends on the person who built it. If a level gets too unfair due to that, then I doubt RobTop will rate them (if yes, they will probably gate hate anyway). The camera controls and ideas can add a lot of new and interesting gimmicks but it depends on how someone will use it. I bet there will be people who will make terrible gameplay with them but I think there will also be masterpieces with that.

Every single thing in this game can be abused in one way or another. Saying something shouldn't be added because it can be abused is basically saying nothing should ever be added again.
These additions can create masterpieces, that's why they are being added. If they had no real practical use, sure, they shouldn't really be added, but these can do stuff never possible before, so they should be 100% added.

I do get that 2.2 triggers could get abused but the levels that have these traits will just get ignored. It is kind of obvious that unfun levels will fade into obscurity since nobody would want to play them and robtop won't feature them. There will be the occasional meme demon by a famous person but nobody is forcing you to play it. You could make a worse level in 1.0 then 2.2 still.

Your reply was actually pretty funny to read (not jk), but i think you misunderstood my point, pr maybe its just me not explaining things in a good and proper way: every change is a drastic modification to gd's mechanics, but think about it, camera controls are too much off the gd style, i have never complained about new gamemodes even if i didnt like them, but for camera controls, i really have to rant. Move trigger was fine, because it is used to add easing to structures, and not to make bad gameplay, shake trigger is pretty bad in my opinion, but there is an option to turn them off (and i have it activated since the first day if 2.1), instead, camera controls is like revolutionating (is that even a word?) the entire concept of the game, it is like suddenly changing the height of a cube jump in a gd update, when you were used to that for 4 years. I hope you understood what i meant before, also, i only complained for 2.1 and 2.2 xd

"Cancerous" and "aids" are not very descriptive words. Also, whether or not the mechanics will be used unfairly is 100% up to the creator of the level. Look at moving blocks. It was a very abusable mechanic, and people did end up abusing it. However, people eventually learned from their mistakes and eventually started creating well designed levels. As durianhead said previously, you could make the same argument about 2.1, 2.0, 1.9, etc. Just wait and see instead of calling something "cancerous" before even experiencing any 2.2 levels.
