I dislike making low-effort posts in threads (other than games or nonsense) which ALSO causes notifications to flood but I have to agree with this You can't say that my post was low-effort when the post right above your post basically said "no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no" and I don't see how making a post gives other people notifications, unless you tag someone in your post. he wasn’t saying your post was low effort, he was referring to himself. OT: This sounds nice and would make level altergame easier to make but it might get abused

I like how it says in the video description:
"Not sure if this is a good idea.."

I dislike this. It will lead to the most frustrating gameplay ever that relies solely on luck.

I think this would be great for bossfights, but it should never be used the way robtop did in the video.. Well I'm just waiting for the scale trigger now lmao.

I’m pretty sure it was already possible to make random events, this just makes it easier. Hopefully it won’t be abused. People also had this type of reaction to move triggers (“People will make trolly levels with it!”) but I don’t think good creators will abuse it.
inb4 a coin that only pops up 1/100 of the time though

NO.
Randomizing things does NOT work in GD.

At first, troll levels will exist, then people will stop as nobody will like them, just like with the move trigger in 2.0. This is a good idea, it can lead to some really cool stuff, I mean, even randomising the colour scheme of a level every time is cool enough for me. RobTop needs to add this.

would be neat to use as random decoration (kinda like in butiti II) or maybe even a randomized death message

well, it might work ok if serponge can figure out how to use it well, but otherwise I don’t think this will be a good idea

Yeah people are going to abuse the trigger, but I think yall make it sound way worse than it will be. No actual level someone put effort into is going to have a 10% chance to have a spike wall at the end, no one is that dumb. And I really dont think this will cause the hullabaloo of terrible features that 2.0 was, because the random trigger will take more effort to use than move and alpha triggers. I think 1-2 months after the release of 2.2, most featured levels using the random trigger will be doing their best to try and use it in a creative and good way.
And regardless of the bad levels that may come out of it, when has this ever been a problem? I think any feature that gives creators more possibilities to express their creativity is a good feature. People had huge complaints about the alpha trigger before 2.0 because of all the trolly gameplay/etc. it could create, and while it may have caused some bad levels look at all the good that came out of it. Nowadays the alpha trigger is arguably the most important trigger for creators and is an indispensible part of the creator's toolset.
As for the good, well I can think of a lot of things this trigger would be useful for but Ill mention one. Right now gd is entirely a muscle memory game (with an extremely small amount of exceptions, like Mastergame). The random trigger if used correctly can implement an entirely new aspect to gameplay- reactionary time. Think like super hexagon- the patterns are predictable, and you have a general idea of what to expect, but you still have to pay attention to see where youll have to go on that run. A way to add that aspect to gameplay often would just involve making small variations on the gameplay that would still sync up, for example you could randomize the location of a gap in a pillar in a ship part, or the perhaps the gravity youll be in in a wave part. There are a lot of possiblities and Im really looking forward to see what people will do.

Instead, play the good levels that use the trigger in a new and innovative way to enhance the level.

This has a lot of good possibilities, yet a lot of bad ones as well.
Random trigger is a mixed bag imo
