Why do we want faster speeds but not slower speeds? To me it would be just as challenging. This can be used as an in game feature to create the slow effect for some ship/UFO parts in featured levels, without a move trigger. It also could give the player a challenge about 1.5/2 spike jumps. Should there be a 1/4x speed or even slower portal?

Seriously, this is unnecessary; 0.5x is slow enough. Just use move triggers to achieve the same effect.

No because that would be abused in straight fly areas which are already hard even in 4x speed unless you play on 144hz
