Hi guys, it's AwesomeKnights09. I am suggesting an idea.
The idea is that when the mods warn a person, the post that caused them to be warned can have an edit from the mods saying:
(Edit by [mod name]: [poster name] has been warned for this post. [percentage warned for post])
Or maybe this could be an automatic thing? I don't know if that is possible but we can try this!
This suggestion works because it lets people learn from others' mistakes. It also informs people about what not to post. The percentage helps because people can understand the severity of the post. However, this may not be a very good suggestion as it may be tedious to do so.
The pros outweigh the cons here and so I think this should be implemented into the forums.
Thanks for reading!
TL;DR: Show people the posts people are warned for. wow longest post ever

Completely disagree with this.
It's something called "public shaming".

Completely disagree with this. It's something called "public shaming". How, most users here are open about their warnings and it's not like the mod saying "lol dis fag was warned cuz not constructive k post" would publicly Shame the user

How, most users here are open about their warnings and it's not like the mod saying "lol dis fag was warned cuz not constructive k post" would publicly Shame the user As you said, most means that there are still some people who aren't open about their warnings; Not to mention if the person who got the warning harassed someone the other has the chance to harass them back. There's also a chance to spark controversy over the warn; whether it was deserved or not. This has already happened before, but now seeing as it's out there for everyone on the forums to view, it could ascend to a higher level. This feature just isn't needed and isn't going to make things better for the forums either.

Nope
Imagine someone posts something NSFW and they get warned for it and the post is removed. Why would the staff want to repost that somewhere else, possibly in a more prominent position where more people can see it. Also, some people wouldn't want other people to know why/how they've been warned, so there's that as well. Pretty sure the staff wouldn't want to implement this either as it would create drama/hate towards staff members.

It might be a good idea so newer people browsing the forum can get a better idea of what's against the rules to post. However the problem is that proboards does not support this functionality directly and there aren't any plugins that currently do this. We could perhaps edit the user's posts directly, but besides that being a lot of work the user could just edit it back if they wanted, and people could create fake warning notes to troll people.

Thats harder than it sounds and I don't think me nor any of the staff is willing to put in the time to learn HTML and Javascript well enough to do something like this. Making plugins isn't like GD level editor :p

Guys, thanks for all the suggestions! I also realise now that my suggestion was not a very good one.

You could have the post that was warned to be unrepliable. and type the warning in a way that no one else knows how to do, basically a secret code.

Or, if its actually done by plugin, make a seperate section between post and signature for it

The staff member makes it optional or the user being warned? The user would have a checkbox in personal where he can enable or disable it for all posts

Making plugins isn't like GD level editor If that's so you can ask me to make them... I know how to write in Javascript and HTML (As well as other Website languages), still though, I also got my limits
