not if the rules are alot more strict, which they are now. You should also probably do a poll, just like the removing censors. IF you add it, and then it causes to much trouble, you can just remove them. I kinda think of the posting ranks as a privilege and that it should get taken away when the community abuses it. Speaking of that, if thats how it is, ive been punished for like longer than half of the time ive been on the forum ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) i mean, it's easier for us staff if it's not added and we don't even need to worry about it. we already removed it once because it was abused, and the rules are close to same as last time they were added |

Imo I don't think we need to worry about them promoting spam because we have the nonsense lounge and forum games, and we've been more strict on posting since they were removed anyway |

hey, i'll just give my opinion
i understand both sides of the argument (eg. promotes spam a bit, makes users more active etc) and i'm not really for them. i mean, yes, they do give people something to work towards, but people like lumai would have high ranks without (sorry about this) posting that constructively at all. i see most constructive posts averaging about 5-10 posts a week, some even 1-3. in my opinion it just labels spammers and forum veterans.

Imo I don't think we need to worry about them promoting spam because we have the nonsense lounge and forum games, and we've been more strict on posting since they were removed anyway the thing is, the nonsense lounge doesn't contribute to posting ranks |

you're missing the point. we had it and people abused it. we've already given it a chance It's been proven in the past that more rule enforcement usually doesn't help stop the promotion of spam/useless posting/etc. In fact, in many cases it actually makes it worse.  I personally wouldn't mind seeing posting ranks added, I mean they do add some variety to the forum, and makes it more fun to post, but I know for a fact that many members will abuse it as soon as it's added. And if they were to be re-added, I don't think that it's a good idea to have 20+ different ranks, which is how many there would be if all the GD and GDM levels were included in them; this would probably promote spam even more; I think that 3-5 ranks is all that's necessary. |
