This is a review of: Sonic Speed
Gameplay (2/4): I truly appreciate the first dual part, its really fun. Also the gameplay has some very nice variety, it never gets dull throughout the level. However some parts are a little awkward (like the slope in the first ufo) and buggy. I didn't take a point off for it, but PLEASE fix the bug right before the first dual, it constituted probably 1/3 of my deaths. It will make the level was better.
Decoration (1/3): The coloration of any objects or backgrounds is not a problem. You did well with that. There's not a whole lot of copy/paste which is nice, most levels of this quality have a lot of it which is bad. The score is low because most sections have only very simple decorations, a lack of them, or both. The mini ball dual, for example is just blocks. Especially because the blocks are the default ones, it looks kind of bad because everything else is empty. I suggest trying to use more of a variety of objects in your building ((tip: not every object has to be used for its intended purpose. the "fade" blocks can be used as backgrounds decor, and chains can be put inside blocks to spice things up, for example)). The first ship and wave is probably the minimum amount of decoration that looks good– I have no problem with those but some other areas need more attention.
Musical Affinity (1/3): This is good in some areas, though others lack it unfortunately. The ufo with the big slope has nice sync, for example. I also really like how you pulsed the background in the first dual part and the ufo following it, but you should have continued that and done it more with the rest of the level. Overall the decoration doesn't fit with the music much, for example dramatic color changes at "drops" in the music or calmer color schemes in slower parts of the song would be good. Also, using slow speed in a fast part of the song (like you did after the mini wave) isn't very fun.
Originality (1x): The end looks too similar to ZenthicAlpha's part in Supersonic considering the song is the same. Everything else is fine though. Just try to use more unique blocks.
Overall (4/10): This belongs in DECENT. Its on the borderline of being worth a star rating, but sub-par decoration and some occasional buggy gameplay stops that in my opinion. The best thing you did was the refrain from too much copy and paste, and the thing you can do most to improve is use more decoration.
