The 2nd promo of 2.0 (the one with the mushroom) also has a different colored trail...
So I think this is just used for special effects of promos...

doesn't look like too much :C I know this is a late reply, but this promotional picture is only supposed to show off some new block types and icons, to give you a general idea of the content within the update.  RobTop usually starts off with some new block types, followed by a teaser that showcases something new in the game, then the song hint ( which probably won't be showcased this time around, since the new 2.1 song will be custom made for the game), and then the sneak peek.  This trend usually differs depending on the update, though. That promo really doesn't have a lot to offer. Just one new decoration 2 new icons, and a 3rd color for your icon's glow. That's it. |

Primary gray, secondary red, and a third orange. |

There's no evidence to suggest this 3rd color is just for decoration, or that it's transparent to the background (which it's not, and it's clearly orange). No offense, but are you colorblind or something? This is one of very few promos where we see an icon with the glow around it (again, not the shimmer...), and this looks very geniune. He wouldn't add it for decoration. |

So I don't understand where you'tre getting this from Second, there's a whole lot of emphasis on that icon, with the shimmer and all, and it IS glowing. Third, why would it blend with the background? Glows never do that in promos, and if thats because it's going to be a new feature, then, well.. that idea really sucks to me. IT'S ORANGE. |
