Gameplay: For the most part, the gameplay looks fine. However, it does fluctuate a lot around the level, varying from simple one-spike jumps (at the beginning) to a pretty thin ship, and back to simple UFO, and to two-space spam wave. The first ship is also pretty epileptic; the flashes blend right in with all the lines and obstacles, and that's annoying when you're trying to fly through spaces that appear with very little warning, due to the screen cutoffs. The final robot was confusing as well as to what was an obstacle and what was decoration. Was it mostly auto? (7/10)
Decoration: Pretty good! The intro had an creative way of using glowing decor, but the stiff, white-and-grey bricks didn't match up so well with the glowing stuff. Ship was great. The succeeding UFO section was nice, decor-wise, but a suggestion would be to add more background decor, as stars don't fill up the screen very well and the section looks very scattered/empty as a result. The cube and wave sections were interesting, but again, a little more stuff wouldn't hurt to be used in contrast to the moving background objects. The ball section looks like you spent a lot of effort trying to make it look nice, but it never worked out. The black-ish background looks random, incomplete and copy/pasted, and are pulled into stark juxtaposition with the vibrantly glowy blocks. The robot also contains a lot of copy/paste, and seems very bland and rushed. Take your time making each section the best it can be! (7.3/10) Technical: Song sync is mostly fine except some areas like 0:37. Gameplay sync was also surprisingly good, except for the UFO section. During the very first bass drop of the song, there's a slow speed UFO that's incredibly simple. Where's the intense gameplay that bounces to the music's strong beat? If you're insistent on leaving the gameplay simple to keep the decoration, at least boost the speed up to something like double speed to compensate. Same with the following cube section, but because it has more complicated gameplay, the speed is satisfactory where it is. Colour variety could've also used some work. Blue and grey/black for the entire level except for the ship section isn't going to cut it. (7/10)
TOTAL SCORE: (7.1/10) - Good Levels /summon megaman9 @stardust1971
