Hello, I haven't been active on this forums since like 2017, but I have a question regarding an old post I made. Every now and then when I open GD and show the editor to someone, I jokingly brag that I'm responsible for the feature which shows how long your level is. This is because I asked in a game suggestion thread if RobTop could add it, and he responded by saying he added it in 2.0. So I wanted to look for this post out of curiosity and nostalgia for the old forum days, but it seems that it's not here anymore? I looked in RobTop's profile but it seems a bunch of his posts are missing. So I started trying to use the wayback machine to find it and this is the closest I got to finding the post: I'm 99% this is RobTop responding to my suggestion, but I won't know for certain since the thread itself is not archived. So, for my question: does anyone (maybe some mods?) have a way to look at the forums from april 2015? Is there some sort of archive? If it's not possible then it's fine, since it's just a silly little thing. But if there's a way, I would love to know!

So, for my question: does anyone (maybe some mods?) have a way to look at the forums from april 2015? Is there some sort of archive? As someone who has been looking through alot of the forum archives over the past few months, my best suggestion would be to go to archive.org and check either: • your recent threads • robtops recent posts • the game suggestions board (or whatever it was called back in 2015) However for that last option if it's not on the first or second page of the board when the screenshot was archived, it'll likely never be found unfortunately. Since it was from April 2015, it was likely wiped during the September 2015 forum maintenance. There's very little available or archived forum content from before then. Pretty much only general discussion has any leftover threads from before the maintenance, (which are slowly disappearing as they get bumped off the last page? Idk what happens to threads beyond the 232nd page) and using archive.org is difficult for many boards due to the annoying blocks of guest browsing on certain boards. Unfortunately the forum doesn't have an official archive of its own (that I'm aware of), and the way proboards has the site set up is very difficult to navigate for archival purposes. From what mods have said, pretty much any thread that still exists worth viewing (e.g no love Baba) should still be viewable, so if it's not in any visible board it's likely gone. That being said, I've been noticing different messages when opening links for old threads, some say they can't be found, others say that I don't have permission to view them, so some may exist somewhere

What LuMaIchArgI said is correct, sadly the forum doesn't have any kind of official archive. There are some old threads in a hidden archived board (I may go through them eventually and try to unarchive the acceptable ones), but I checked and thread #2438 no longer exists. The only way you can find any proof is likely through the wayback machine.

Yea I thought about that maintenance, but I would've thought *everything* before september 2015 would be deleted, I didn't know that just the general discussion was (partly?) preserved. I'm probably gonna try to look some more but now I do have my doubts in finding it :/. Thanks for the suggestions though!

And with 'thread #2438' do you mean that's the 'small level editor suggestion' thread from april 18 2015? Because if that's gone then yea there's probably a slim chance of me actually finding it.. Well I'm gonna keep trying for a bit and will let you guys know if I ever find it, but I'm not expecting too much.
On another note, pretty cool to see you guys still on the forums! Didn't expect a fast response and I absolutely didn't expect it to be familiar names. This post was pretty much a shot in the dark. Thanks guys I really appreciate it

Yeah, if you hover over the link to that thread you get: web.archive.org/web/20150805124722/http://gdforum.freeforums.net/thread/2438/small-level-editor-suggestion, which is thread #2438. This link isn't archived, and I tried looking through archives of your recent posts (https://web.archive.org/web/20170809082510/http://gdforum.freeforums.net/user/225/recent) and recent threads (https://web.archive.org/web/20170809125315/http://gdforum.freeforums.net/user/225/recent_threads), but neither of them seem to contain your post. So unfortunately, seems like it might be lost forever. Nice seeing you around again though!

Thank you for your response! Yea I thought about that maintenance, but I would've thought *everything* before september 2015 would be deleted, I didn't know that just the general discussion was (partly?) preserved. I think the only reason the General Discussion board was preserved cuz I don't think it can be deleted. All the other boards are newer versions of their old board equivalents, which is why their urls have different ids in the url compared to what you'd find on archives pre-maintenance. General Discussion is still the same exact board since inception despite going through some name changes over the years another note, pretty cool to see you guys still on the forums! Didn't expect a fast response and I absolutely didn't expect it to be familiar names. This post was pretty much a shot in the dark. Thanks guys I really appreciate it np, always great to see another old user browsing around. If I ever get a chance, I might browse around archives cuz its always possible it can be found in the strangest of places lol. Sometimes finding old forum relics can feel like a treasure hunt
