Why do they gotta name them like they're some god-like figure or concept... "Acheron" "Arcturus" "Avernus"
Why cant a demon be named smth like "Jacob"

there are a lot of levels with meme names (there's an insane demon called "gregory" for example), you just hardly ever see them near the top of the pointercrate list

I'd think this is mostly because of how common hell/demon themed levels and such are within the world of extreme demons, and that goes back a really long time (I could have my history wrong but I'd like to say it could have started with The Hell World and other such levels in that series). There are still levels with meme names, they just don't last as long within the community - levels like Hungry Humphrey or this forum's very own The This come to mind.
