This forum needs activity

Unfortunately there isn't really anything to do to fix that except wait for a GD update, really, and even if that happens, the chance of the forum becoming even close to as active as it used to be is a long shot - right now, things like Discord are more popular and efficient for gaming communities, and can pretty much do anything a forum can and more, so forums in general are kinda destined to flop.

The forums are fun, but speaking purely from a communication standpoint, they've been long eclipsed by Discord, Zoom, and even other social media like Twitter and Facebook. It's sometimes harder to navigate around, there isn't as much functionality (no instant messaging, no voice chats, it's difficult to format and send images and videos), and it's just more difficult to create good events for a community that are interesting and can run well in a forum format, at least with GD as far as I can tell. It doesn't help that for this forum specifically, the only way people really found out about here was because of buzz around updates (back when Rob was actually active here and occasionally posted or even dropped the occasional early sneak peek), which GD hasn't had in years. Despite him having an account here, Rob never showed official support for the forum from what I can remember, so if updates weren't around, the forum kinda had to be spread through word of mouth (which was still inefficient in comparison, but worked better in past years when the game had a significantly larger and more active playerbase). Given just how long ago it's been since those things happened, it's admittedly hard to see the forum bouncing back to its former glory, although you can trust me when I say I'd like to see some more activity here just as much as you do.
