You should add a outdated board to prevent necroposting and you could have a bot account move those to outdated so its just basicly a recycling bin to prevent necro WillFlame Jayflight

We do have a place to move locked threads but that's mainly if they aren't needed anymore, and that's the main problem with having a bot do it imo - it's not a real person and can't really tell how "useful" a thread still is/how relevant a thread's information still is, so from how I see it, the current way works fine as is (although I do need to get cracking on moving things there).
However, I don't think that threads should be archived just because someone necroposts in them as long as the information in that thread is still relevant (except for the necropost, of course), or else a lot of forum history and useful info gets locked in the archive where those threads can't be publicly seen and where staff has to dig through for mistakenly archived threads. People still need to be aware of forum rules and that old threads should only be posted on if a user has new, relevant info to add or a question to ask. If a thread has useful info in it, it should be kept in a place where people can see it.

The time spent to create a bot that can interact with proboards' API (assuming it even has one) will definitely outweigh the time we need to spend locking threads that are necroposted. Of course, this problem wouldn't exist in the first place if people just followed the rules, so I think making a bot for this is unnecessary.
