Moved to Forum Community (where new ideas for the forum are suggested).

The purpose of the necroposting rule, in my eyes, is to prevent people from constantly spamming useless posts in order to up their post count for a custom title or something, and to make sure all the older, inactive threads don't keep getting visibility above new threads (this is very important in places like the GD Community board, where people post game glitches and stuff; necroposting there and bringing up a lot of old threads can keep new threads, where people actually need help, from being seen by most people, since many threads are only viewed because they are the most recent to be posted on). All the most relevant discussions need to be kept up front and given the most visibility they can so people can get answers to their questions, debate about current topics, discuss modern GD events, get help with current glitches, etc.

In short, the Nonsense Lounge is the only board where constant spam is allowed, other than possibly Forum Games (if the game you are playing has spam as a part of its gameplay).

There is a forum game called The Necro Game (and you're free to do whatever in the Nonsense Lounge), but otherwise yes please don't necropost.
