Hello Geometry Dash community!
So yes, I have played GD alot earlier, and I just got a new pc with RX 580 and its good, but there is a problem..

First of all my spec:

CPU: I5-4670K

GPU: (main) RX 580 8GB Sapphire Nitro Plus and (not usable) Intel HD Graphics 4600

RAM: 4x4 GB

So yes, everything started from this, that I installed all the drivers, everything what I need, and for sure Steam, I installed it, later Geometry Dash, and it doesn't run. Absolutely. There was not even a black window of the game. BUT, Steam for a few seconds showed that I was in the game. It was very strange.. I tried to search for a solution, nothing helped me, I tried EVERYTHING I FOUND AND NOTHING SOLVED MY PROBLEM.

So, yes, everything I tried, nothing helped me..
Just absolutely nothing helped me

I was thinking alot, what is the problem. I tried to change performance mode for GD, (settings>system>graphic settings)
I put "High Performance", that uses my RX 580, nothing happens, not even a black screen, but Steam for a little time showed me in a game
Then I changed it to "Pover Saving", that uses Intel HD Graphics 4600, and.. yes it launched, I was shocked, everything had to be fine, but no. There was a lot of lags, I went to daily levels to test it (because usually there are a lot of effects in daily levels) and I got FPS under 25. I was really sad, tried to again put "High Performance" mode, and it doesn't launch as earlier. So that is my problem..

Things I tried to do:
Reinstall drivers and AMD software, full reset of it and etc.
Reinstall Steam and Geometry Dash
Make corrupted files check in Steam
Plug unplug my GPU
Reset bios
Reset screen settings and monitor settings in Windows (idk why I have done this, but why not)
Cried (unfortunately, it not helped)

What we got:
Geometry Dash won't lauch on my dedicated RX 580, but it lauches on integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600.
My RX 580 is working well and shows good, stable work.

I hope someone can help me with this...

I beg, don't ignore this thread, I like Geometry Dash and want to play it, and I really hope that someone will be able to help me.

Hey, im new but im having the same problem with a ryzen 3 3200g 16gb of 3200mhz ram and 250gb ssd, my game wont launch in steam even when i do the thing u said to put it in power saving mode and i really want to play the game, i bought it because i transfered from mobile but it says its running for like 2 seconds and then it goes back to saying "play", can u tell me if u solved it and how please? and if not thank you for replying, i sent u a discord friend request, ill be awaiting for ur answer.

Might I suggest that this is the gd community and more than half of us probably don’t even know what you basically just said.

I ran into the same problem and Im not sure yet, but I think I know the solution, tho its kind of really dumb. So I didnt know what to do all the time did exactly the same things you do and I have the exact same problem I even have a YT video on this asking for help so you can see I have the same issue you do :

So eventually it worked after: I tried to install the Radeon Drivers (which for me is the AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT) and while I did that i accidently uninstalled them. What came out is it worked suddenly BUT you lose a lot of performance of GD and other games because for example the level "Slaughterhouse" lagged for me. Its kind of weird but apparently Geometry Dash is not compatible with AMD graphics drivers so instead if you uninstall them it starts using your processor for graphics and it works then. What I do (I will let you know if it works) is I will play regular games (Like Rust or Warzone 2.0 which need more performance than GD) while I have the drivers installed, and if I want to play Geometry Dash I will uninstall them restart my PC and play GD.

Its really stupid that it is like that but be sure you are not alone with this! I will let you know whether it works like that or not, but I just resetted my PC and before I installed AMD drivers it started, after I did install them I did not, so im pretty sure what I said in this post is right.

Edit : Yup I found the Solution and thats how it works. Just Uninstall drivers but keep the Installer on ur PC and whenever you want to play GD uninstall them, whenever you play something else Install them again. Steam + GD arent compatible with them at all.

I retested it and now I have "the ultimate final solution". Its the same as before but download this: www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-601
After uninstalling AMD software run this program. It will reboot ur pc in a safe way remove all AMD data, then reboot ur pc in normal way and you can play GD. If u want to install drivers again just run the installer and it works.
