I was messing around with the wayback machine and found this
If you scroll to the bottom you can see there were over 600 people online every day. This place is now dead. I hope activity can rise once 2.2 comes out.

Discord is just a much easier platform to use. However, this place feels more like a club rather than the Official Discord Server. And then ofc there’s Dragon’s Den, which is an offshoot of this (or it was initially). Will this place become active again? Probably not, but weirder things have happened.

I think with fast-paced conversations it's definitely easier to have them on Discord; forums are more like having multiple threads that anyone can reply to on their own time. I wish Discord had a kind of threading system (like in Slack) where you wouldn't have to necessarily miss out on conversations that happened at 3am your time or the like. A better profile system (+signature) is another benefit I can see forums having over Discord. I just don't really play GD anymore, that's why I feel that I don't have anything to contribute.
Though tbh the forums still get like 4-8 new member registrations every day. I wonder where we're still getting all that attention from.
EDIT: Also moving to Lounge as this is more related to the forum than Geometry Dash.

A signature can contain much more text, can support multiple types of media such as images/videos/links, and even allow a wide variety of text formatting options. You can also insert custom BBCode for stuff like horizontal rules or marquees. |

Honestly miss all the time I had on this forum back in 2018 and some of 2019. Really felt like a cool group of friends. Luckily I am still in touch with most of the people I talked to back then through the Dragon's Den discord server which started from here and is still super active. Won't forget all the fun times I had on these forums though, really felt like a different era.
