It's no doubt one of my all-time favorite levels, right up there with Mind Control and Save As, and I've been wondering if it could possibly be better decorated. There's a chance that it would be a stunning level, but then again, a lot of the charm lies in its layout-ness, and the object count would be absolutely ridiculous considering how it's pretty much a layout and already has over 40k objects. So I'm conflicted. Discuss. (And yes I know Zhander said he wasn't going to decorate it, this is all hypothetical)

What do you mean "should" it? There's no inherent reason for any level to exist or not exist. The creator, Zhander, owns the rights to the level, so it's up to him.

What do you mean "should" it? There's no inherent reason for any level to exist or not exist. The creator, Zhander, owns the rights to the level, so it's up to him. As I've said, it's completely hypothetical. |

Aleph 0 I assume is supposed to be treated as the final level which means it's already decorated and even though I don't like it, its looks are intended to be its decoration so no it shouldn't. If your question is more of "should the level become more up to date", that would make more sense but I can't stress enough that levels like this, xo, Conical Depression, they're all already decorated

In the description of Shiryuu's Aleph 0 video: "However, as I progressed with it, I started to feel like maybe it didn't really need to be decorated, maybe this basic look with broken and glitchy details here and there was all it needed to be interesting and decorating it would possibly ruin that feeling. (...) This is a finished product." Not only does the creator of the level not want to decorate it, but to decorate the level would go against what the level was intended to be. That being said, I can imagine how a little bit of decoration would immensely improve certain parts. It would, however, be nigh impossible to make those parts fit with the parts that are already sufficient in their current state. soo uhh no

what would a decorated aleph 0 even look like? It’s ostensibly a complete and finished level, which uses complex effects to accentuate the basic blocks used. In that sense, it’s probably already decorated. Even if such a thing were possible, the sheer amount of movement and complex gameplay present in the level would make decorating the level extremely tedious to the point of near impossibility, let alone anyone actually wanting to do it.

Should Aleph-0 be decoratedSo, let’s look at Aleph-0, it is a effect layout. A EFFECT layout. A effect layout has amazing (most of the time) effects, DUH, anyways, the effects would be too hard to decorate. A effect LAYOUT. A effect layout is meant to look what is decorated, unlike, say, bloodlust, which has a lot of decoration, and without all the decorations, it would not look what is decorated. So, a better question to ask would be: Should (XO, Conical Depression, etc) be decorated. And the same answer to those questions would be: No!So... basically, no, but don’t stop just yet as I just wanted to point out some pros (even though they don’t outweigh the cons in this case).
People would be happy
More people
More people = more downloads.
More downloads = more plays.
More plays = more people on the leaderboards.
More people on the leaderboards = Leaderboards get updated
Leaderboards get updated = People would be happy
And so on and so on and so on.
So... onto the comment itself... or at least snippets of it.

I do too, but then again, the layout is the charm.
Charm = people are happy
People are happy = more people
More people = more downloads.
More downloads = more plays.
More plays = more people on the leaderboards.
More people on the leaderboards = Leaderboards get updated
Leaderboards get updated = People would be happy
And so on and so on and so on.
