So its the focal point of loads of conversation nowadays,so lets hear it, how's it affecting you? Do you think they'll be a cure? anything you wanna say go for it! Note: i'm from the UK just incase anyone isn't clear on that So for me, well its unusual since we haven't closed our college yet although the news today has the government insist that we close by friday, exams over here are also delayed meaning that if we have time off i could end up sitting my exams in july instead of may which is incredibly disorienting for me. Although on the plus side of things, no-one i know of is infected nor do i know anyone who knows someone who is, so i guess there's a sense of ease amongst everything. i think we all know by now but stay safe you beautiful bastards xP

There will surely be a cure. It's just your run-of-the-mill coronavirus according to what everyone's said. My school is closed until April 10th, and restaurants are closed until further notice except drive-thru. Only big impacts I guess.

Not that big in the USA yet, but still enough where I’m out of school until after March 30th (will likely be extended beyond that but oh well). I hope those in majorly affected countries (such as China, Italy, and South Korea) are safe.

I hope those in majorly affected countries (such as China, Italy, and South Korea) are safe. China and South Korea pretty much have this under control. They bought Europe and NA a lot of time, and they ended up wasting all of it (especially the US). The only reason people think it's "not that big" here is because we haven't been testing nearly enough people. The actual numbers are almost certainly 5 times higher than what's being reported, at least. That plays out all over the world, but not nearly as drastically as here.

I'm not infected yet afaik (I only have standard spring allergies still), but my dad seems like he's come down with something, so he's trying to get tested from his doctor. All of my immediate family members are practicing social distancing, including me, and that's good since I have many elderly family members. Everyone's fine right now and hopefully nothing else will go wrong. Even though I go to a homeschool co-op and not a legit public or private school, it's also closed for 2 weeks, so I've had even more work to do when I'm not in school than when I actually am lol. Church is closed for 2 weeks too so I'm stuck at home doing homework and chores, and also playing video games. Luckily the quarantine is actually giving me more frequent music from my favorite artists, and it's permitting me to work on my own as well. Everyone stay safe

update on my end of things, our government has said all schools HAVE to close tomorrow and colleges are HIGHLY recommended to close too. even weirder is that our exams are cancelled so they now rely entirely on coursework if exams are not rescheduled to a later date.
so i've just spent an entire year learning film, context and essay practice for nothing, its kinda frustrating tbh but at the end of the day no-one saw this coming so its not anyone's fault, but man its really hard to stay motivated to do work when i've today learnt that almost 7 months work was for naught.
other than that we have online work set during our normal lessons and coursework to still do but its just weirder me out massively to be told we get a free pass on our exams if they don't reschedule them.

I mean, I live in Greece and schools and universities are closed until further notice, most likely after Orthodox Easter, so yeah... Fun. TV commercials where the importance of social distancing is stressed are common place now days. Washing hands for twenty seconds, slim to none contact with the elderly and yeah... That's ONLY from TV.
Generally, people have taken the virus seriously and a full-on lockdown is currently being discussed. I'm pretty fine about all of this, if it helps to flatten the curve. I mean, not being able to leave the house is rather... Annoying, but oh well

After doing some extensive research on COVID-19, I believe that many major events will happen in the following months. For example, during this time many countries may face a severe recession which may harm or even destroy multiple economies across the globe. On top of that, many industries may shut down since there is a low demand for certain products and services. And if countries like China cancel trade with other countries like the United States (which has a very low chance of happening), countries may even collapse due to the lack of importing items like medicine and foreign goods.
After all of the damage is done, COVID-19 will eventually go away and many countries will either:
1. Go back to normal
2. Face a paradigm shift
3. Increase trade among other countries to keep their economy afloat
All in all, COVID-19 will either end up destroying parts of the world or will improve economies. We will just have to wait and see.

If it happens to larger countries, though, Italy will probably be one of the first to have its economy collapse - from what I've heard, the only business still in operation are the ones providing food and medical supplies, but they still don't have enough to treat all their patients, supposedly. And it's not like other countries will give up their own supplies, they're all too paranoid for the safety of their own populations.
Then again, I find it a little strange that little to no video of extremely affected countries like Italy and China have emerged - surely it's not that hard to release videos of hospitals treating patients as a method of extra information alongside the medical statistics? There isn't really any reason to hold back that sort of stuff, unless the reason isn't good.

Possibly because countries like Italy either don't have enough resources or don't care enough to do anything about it. As for China it's China lol of course they wouldn't. In any case even if they released recordings like you're suggesting the primary focus would undoubtedly to make said countries look good which isn't very useful from a medical perspective (or most others)

So far I'm doing good because I'm an introvert and internet access means lack of boredom. The only thing I have to worry about is the national exam which supposedly held in the next two weeks, which is likely to be delayed. So, I'm just studying for the national exam and browsing the internet here inside my home.

I'm from Italy and we have some problems in our own country, which is Genoa, in Italy and I'll say that all supermarkets are almost empty. I mean, we can't buy nothing, all people bought it all. This thing is not only in my country, in the whole Italy but it depends on people. When I go to the supermarket to buy something, I don't know how to move and reach the supermarket, it's full of cops and there's nobody in the city. I'm only browsing the internet, playing with my friends and that's all.

So fast forward almost a month, and the US is doing even more shittily than China and Italy combined. They haven't yet closed down schools for the rest of the school year in my state, but they have till mid-May, and I wouldn't be surprised if they extended it again. I fear that it might be closed even after September; like, CollegeBoard is already planning for that possibility. Hopefully things go well, and Harvard's wrong about that "social distancing till 2022" bullshit, because imma go batshit insane if I'm still living like this after this fall.

Hello from the United Arab Emirates! The situation is not good here, there are about 3000 cases and the number of daily cases are rising once again. The economy is practically doomed and many people are losing their jobs because of this pandemic. I think that this will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience (at least I hope). This will probably be one of the biggest global events that has occurred in my life.
