I mean, I personally don't really like History and Philosophy, even though the latter can be rather fun ngl.
History because it's about the Byzantium Empire and it's booooooooring af.
Philosophy because, although there can be some interesting debates, eg abortion, most of the time we are talking about "How do you define real", "What is the meaning of real" and "That's not a banana because you can't eat it". It gets on my nerves after a while

I don't think any subject should be removed from the syllabus cause they're all useful in their own ways but personally I can't be assed to find deep meaning in the writing styles of short stories written in hard to understand language. English is one of the most tedious subjects and I feel like I always come out of the other end of assignments feeling like I learned nothing. Of course I know that they wouldn't teach it if it didn't have benefits, but when compared to other subjects I think the schools in my area have far more issues with this subject than anything else.

I think every course has some sort of importance so I wouldn’t remove any however the subject I hate the most was Spanish. I liked it at first but Sophomore year Spanish ruined it for me.

Chemistry for sure. I could never wrap my head around it. Biology can stay though, definitely one of my favorite sciences.
Second to go would be geometry.

Here in the uk religious studies is forced until a certain age which always bothered me since they only teach Christianity, personally i really wished they let people make their own judgements on religion after they reach that age since im very certain everyone just makes their own belief anyways meaning there's no point to being taught that lesson =/

Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Honestly, English is probably the most useless subject since all we do is overanalyze the fuck out of classic texts to the point where we are overthinking it way beyond what the author was likely intending when writing the book. However, English is actually not that bad compared to GLOBAL STUDIES, aka History. In History, we get to learn about the feats of groups of people that lived many centuries ago as we try to stop ourselves from falling asleep on the spot. Fun times.

English because unimportant literature is forced down our throats half the time and every line gets analyzed to death, almost to a point where each line is squeezed dry of any subliminal messages even if the intended takeaway from the line is more than obvious.

This I have to agree with. Sometimes the actual storyline is more important. Author: the door is blue Teacher: NOW the DOOR signifies a BORDER between the OUTSIDE and INSIDE and the color BLUE represents calm and tranquillity blah blah blah Author: nah dude I just meant the door had blue paint on it

I'd have to say its between English and my stupid school's compulsory subject Religion and Ethics, or R&E for short. I just don't enjoy doing English and it becomes a pain in the ass when it's more about focussing on the topic rather than the final piece. Also I got a boring C on my report card last year so I guess that also contributes to me not enjoying it. Only reason why it was good was because nearly all of my good friends were in the class and we had a chill teacher. R&E on the other hand I just got results that were much lower than I expected even though I thought I did really well. The topics are also pretty boring as well but again, had my mates in the class and the teacher was chill lol.
