Hello! Yesterday I bought GD for PC (I played it usally on mobile, it's 75% off now on steam). So I want to download a screen recorder for making replays of my levels. Do you know any progrogram, which is free to download, don't need root and you can download it on steam?
This is in the Lounge because it's not relating to GD but it's not relating to GD community or forum communtity. This thread has sense so it not in the Nonsense lounge (I also want no spam and seriously answers on it).
This is a serious tagged thread. Answer on it, if you can help me. If not please post nothing! Jokes are also not allowed.
I hope for some answers! vital13

Most commonly used screen recorders for GD are OBS and Shadowplay. They can work a bit differently depending on your computer so it depends on which one works best for you. At least one of them should work well though.

Thanks for your answer (and I'am sorry, if I've tagged you), I'am informing about OBS right now, but I can't find (fast) some information: which file format would have a recorded video? (AVI, MPEG4...)
I will looking forward from hearing from you and I looking forward for probably other answers too! vital13 (:

You can try Action if those mentioned above makes your device lag while you're playing and recording, it uses a very low amount of CPU usage, so better performance. (It works for me, so it would for you). Also, some players who use shadowplay have gotten a few corrupted records.

MP4 is the easiest to work with but it can get corrupted if the recording doesn't get stopped properly. I recommend recording to MKV and then converting it to an MP4 using the Remux recording feature found in the File menu. On that note, I recommend making a few more changes to the OBS settings to improve performance: - Use a hardware encoder - Settings -> Output -> Encoder: set this to either NVENC, QUICKSYNC or VCE (depending on your hardware). Do not use libx264 unless you absolutely have to or you know what you're doing
- Increase the bitrate - 2500 kbps is quite low for any modern resolution, see the YouTube recommended bitrates table and choose a bitrate adequate for the resolution you're recording: support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171
- You might want to change the resolution and framerate as well, see Settings -> Video for that (I recommend setting FPS to 60 to make the video smoother if your PC can handle that)
