Itโs a bit early but yeah Iโve been a bit slow with getting reviews out. Iโll see when I have time these next few days to get some reviews done.

@jy2000 Can you move it back to the judging panel? I would like to get a review on it. Thanks

It said I had a tag for this thread but I didn't see anything.
Whatever. Moved back to the judging panel.
I don't have much homework tonight so I should be able to do a review.

HalutenaThis review's over a month overdue, but better late than never I guess. Level Name: Blood Moon Level ID: 57965055 Level Author: vital13 Review: Gameplay: The gameplay is generally not terrible throughout this level. I actually think the drop gameplay is quite fine and fits well, even if it's a bit ordinary. One thing I'll talk about though is the screen completely concealing the player. This is especially done throughout the beginning. Generally, you want to make sure gameplay is completely readable, especially if your intended difficulty is 5 stars. These screen changes aren't really helpful towards that cause, since they're confusing and distracting. This next thing is a little more specific, being the dash orb during the pre-drop ship part. There's not really an indication for the S blocks being there, which caused me to fall and hit the side of the block structure below and die. There's 2 ways to go about this. Either you make it clear where the S blocks are or extend the platform on the bottom so that when you hit the orb, there's no way to fall and hit the side. Another thing I'll talk about is the amount of waiting you have to do. There are several points in this level where you just do nothing and wait for a while. This kinda gets boring, especially when one of these waiting parts is over 10% of the level. Typically, these sorts of waiting screens should only be a second or two maximum, not as long as they are here, since it kinda just distracts from the overall flow and comes off as lazy since other gameplay could've gone there. Last thing I'll mention is custom orbs/portals. Most of the time I could tell what these were so they weren't too much of a hassle, however the custom upside down portal caught me completely off guard since it blended way too much with the rest. Typically custom orbs/portals aren't really advised, but if you're going to make them, then make it more clear what they are, since otherwise it's confusing. Side note: I understand at the start there's a "Practice first" text, however that doesn't really excuse any of the flaws I mentioned above. This level's intended difficulty is 5 stars, which most players should be able to do in a few attempts without practice mode. There shouldn't need to be a need to practice the level beforehand when it's designed to be this low in difficulty. Maybe if it's a demon it would be more excusable, but not really in this case. Overall, it isn't horrible gameplay, however it has its flaws. Design: The design is overall, in a word, crude. I'll start with the block design. For the most part, it's pretty much nonexistent. For the most part, it's just blocks in their most basic form, without much thought put into them. There's a glimpse of block design in the ball and following ship. The base design definitely had some thought put into it, but everything put together kinda comes off as messy and unpolished. Pretty much everything after that point doesn't have much else to judge for block design since there isn't much of it. Next I'll talk about the backgrounds, since from what I can tell that seems to be the basis of this level. The beginning background looks okay I guess, just a bit unpolished, however it goes on for quite a while. The backgrounds should change when there's a notable shift in the level, like a gameplay transition or otherwise. In this example, the background should change at the start of the ball (to something else other than just changing the base color to blue. There's a starry background after this, which looks okay I guess. It's not terribly unique though since I've seen a ton of starry backgrounds made in basically the same way. After that point is either just no backgrounds with an occasional flash to a modified version of the first background which looks fine, but random. Next is the skull that continually appears throughout the level. Now, something I noticed is that this skull is remarkably similar to the skull used in Underworld by HfcRed. More crude, but very similar (see below for a picture on what that looks like). The skull in Underworld And then your skull Now, I'm not accusing you of stealing from HfcRed. For all I know you both used the same reference image when making the art and this is merely a coincidence. However, it's something I noticed when looking at this level. Apart from that, the skull itself just looks fairly crude. Mostly just messy designs with some random elements added. It lacks a sense of flow with the rest. Last thing I'll mention is the air deco. There really isn't any air deco throughout. There's hints of it in some spots but overall it just looks very empty. Overall, it's a solid attempt, but there's a lot to improve here. Sync: The sync isn't really especially good. The gameplay is pretty plain and doesn't sync the best, and the screen changes don't fully fit the song and overall flow of the level. The long wait between the spike cube section and the drop also doesn't have any element of sync since it's just a long cutscene of a skull. Overall, the level could sync a lot better. Overall: DECENT (low end) I bounced back and forth between a high Needs Improvement and a low Decent. Ultimately I decided to go with Decent, since there was at least a bit some elements of uniqueness, and the ideas weren't terrible, they just could've been executed better. The gp was generally fine despite my points, and is probably what saved this from getting NI. Improve on the things I mentioned above, and you'll have a good shot as a creator. Moving to Decent.

Hello!
Thanks for your review. I will make the next level better. If you mean the music sync of the video - I can't help it. On all my devices the music it synced 'correctly', but not in the video. I just used the skull of Underworld as a base for mine. The differences are that I need an art, which is created with the same scale-factor and I need a human skull. I think the only usage of that art will be for my art-gallery soon.
Thanks for your review, I try to make it better in my new levels - especially in new Halloween-levels. It said I had a tag for this thread but I didn't see anything. I'am sorry for that. I was hectic and tagged you by mistake. So I thought: If I tag another jugde you will be detagged. So I tagged the judge, who I wanted to tag initially. However thank you for your review!
