How many of these do you know?
*MasK463, creator of many popular old levels such as "Crescendo", used to be #1 on the player leaderboard.
*So has MaJackO.
*The demon level "The Ambitious Trip" by Ark is based on the creator's trip to a foreign country.
*Partition has a long-lost level called "KSO". It was rated 1 star. Sadly, no footage of the level is believed to exist.
*RobTop regretted rating The Nightmare and The Lightning Road demon: "[They] shouldn't be Demon maps, but it's too late to change it."
*The first pad of "The Hell Zone" by Sohn0924 used to be a difficult orb timing.
*In 1.3 to 1.5, a drastic bug affected many levels such as Hextec Flow, setting their versions as 0 and changing their songs to Stereo Madness. Although the bug was fixed, it still exists in a few levels, such as "AUTO XSTEP" by Limequality and "Iptime" by Player.
*"Story Madness" by Reontz, one of the hardest Hard-rated levels in the game, would have been unrated if the creator hadn't updated it, because a bug changed the difficulty to Tiny.
*The title for "Element 74 La" by Experience D is incorrect. Lanthanum is actually Element 57. Curiously, another level named after the 74th element exists, with the correct title: "Element 74 W" by GW - Zet.
*The special effect of stacking gravity portals to make the player drop down, found in Sohn0924's levels, was actually invented by him. He dubbed them "sinkers".
*"A DARKWORLD" by DAM GEOMETRY, the last level on the featured list, was rated in 1.3, but it has been updated 83 times since, most recently in 2.0. It was formerly rated demon, but it got unrated in 1.9 due to it containing a secret way.
*Rumor has it that there is footage of RobTop using no-clip, in his "Clubstep v2" video, where he clips through a spike in one of the ship parts.
*What actually happened was that the hitboxes were much more broken than they are now. Fortunately, they got fixed in 1.7.
*This also meant that timing demons, such as Sohn0924's Hell levels, were much easier than they are now.
*You know those auto-rated levels that aren't really auto, such as "Geass" by Zahre and "Weightlessness" by Supermoon? They used to be Easy 1*, but when RobTop correlated star count and level ratings in 2.0, they became auto.
*Also remember that really hard (now-deleted) Normal 3* level, "I Ninetynine I" by GGTime? It used to be a short challenge level dating from 1.3, but the creator gave it a huge update in 1.8 when no one was looking, adding a disproportionately difficult extension. This is an early instance of creators abusing the star rating system, predating more notorious instances such as Cyclic making all of his levels free stars, or GD Virus's "Battle of the Shades".play i sixty six i by me
*"Heaven and Hell" by GW RoadMc2 is a remake of the demon "Hell and Heaven" by Pis.
*"Ice Carbon Zust" by GW RoadMc2 is a remake of the former demon "Ice Hell Cave" by Small.
*"To The Grave" by Darnoc was the hardest level of its time, far surpassing in difficulty any other level before. This explains why it has so many dislikes (it is one of the most disliked levels in GD).
*Leksitoo's old unregistered incarnation, containing "Geometry Dash Quiz", was known as Alex.
*AlexANDGame's old unregistered incarnation, containing "DarkStep", was also known as Alex.
*If you see some really old levels made by "GDZimnior12", they're actually by an unregistered user named Crayon Pop.
*"Castle" by Jeyzor is awkward (but not impossible) to beat without the secret way, because many of the platforms in one of the ball parts have not worked since 1.8 due to a hitbox update. This was the same bug that caused "Red World" by saRy to become impossible.
*"Very Easy" by Jakupii was un-demoned due to it being impossible ever since 1.8. The bug is caused by a different physics change, where hitting the roof with a ball by means of an orb or a pad caused you to hit the ceiling instead of dying.
*"Alphabet Y" used to be insane-demon difficulty, containing tight The Janus Miracle-esque straight-flying segments in the mini ship part, but they have been nerfed now.
*It is also impossible due to a 2.1 bug.
*"Carbonelite", one of the first players in the game, creator of "The 3 Labours" and "The Rainbow Road", is the same person as GW RoadMc2 and Roadbose. This is confirmed through one of GW RoadMc2's comments on The Rainbow Road, as well as the similarity in usernames.
*There was a totally different version of ICDX that was unreleased.
*MaJackO's Russia-themed demon for Partition's 1.5-1.6 creator contest was originally supposed to be the level that is now known as "Apologiest." The creator was unsatisfied with the submission, though, and started again from scratch.
*Many of MaJackO's old levels have had their songs changed to custom songs after 1.9:
*"Silent Hill" and "Silent Hill v2" used to use xStep.
*"GW Russia" and "Treasure Mine" used to use Can't Let Go.
*"MetalCore" used to use Cycles.
*"GrindCore" used to use Stereo Madness.
*"EmoCore" used to use Dry Out.
*"Sky Realm" by Darnoc was temporarily unrated due to a bug that caused the bottom few rows of blocks in the level to disappear, creating a secret way. It was subsequently patched and rerated within a day... but then the bug happened again.
*"Nether Step" by Noxpuriens had the same "bug that Darnoc experienced, but instead of asking RobTop to fix it, the creator put up a wall at the end of the secret way himself and built around it. This is why Nether Step is still a "free orbs" level today.
*PMCreatorArco tricked RobTop into rating his demon level "Element 1 H" by claiming that the secret way he used to verify it was a troll that caused the player to die at the end of the level. RobTop didn't find out till PMCreatorArco confessed, and the level was unrated until they could re-verify the level without a secret way.
*The hardest pre-1.9 level to ever have been rated demon was not Silent Club, The Hell Origin, or Ice Carbon Diablo X. It was Element 111 Rg. Reportedly, its difficulty surpassed anything ever created by Sohn0924. However, it used a secret way near the beginning, taking advantage of the game's poor-quality hitboxes. The level stayed rated for less than a month, after which it was deleted. Sadly, no footage of the entire level exists.
*Contrary to popular belief, saRy beat the nerfed, rather than unnerfed versions of Stereo Demoness and Back on Mountain by MaJackO.
