On this subject, I have the same standpoint as you. I don't necessarily like or dislike them, and it's not a factor I use to judge someone. I actually know a few cool people here who claim to be furries. On the forum a lot of us like/support them or at least don’t mind them but unfortunately they’re discriminated as a minority in open society. That's all I can really say.

Well I'd say I have the same problem with furries that I would have with a gun organization. Has no problem itself but probably pushed by some people to an illegal extent (cuz, you know, the law of big numbers and heh, human beings aren't innocent). Besides that why would it matter? I find it, like cringey to see people expose themselves dressed up as furries but as I am socially awkward its pretty much the case of anyone exposing themselves heh
Edit: got to also precise I may do very offensive jokes against that group, as much as any other one because I'm fond of dark humor

Well since Andria's gone I'm now (probably) the only furry who is active here so I think I should make a post.
To me the recent surge of furry hate is quite similar to the SJW hate we've been seeing since 2015 or so. That is, exaggerating a group's flaws in order to mock them using a strawman. Most of the anti-furry messages I see on Reddit and other sites is mostly from people who have never been involved with the furry community, and I shouldn't have to explain why that logic is extremely flawed. It's just another poorly constructed agenda being pushed in the form of a circlejerk on the internet.
As for the community itself, I'm mostly just a lurker. I've been following r/furry_irl for over a year and that specific division of the community is generally one of the most open and accepting places I've seen online. I'm also a frequenter on sites such as furaffinity (mostly just for art not really for communities) and they still manage to be ridiculously wholesome compared to normal art sites like Deviantart, even considering the amount of 18+ shit.
That being said, are there parts of the community I think are weird? Absolutely. However, I don't think many parts of it are inherently morally wrong. The only way I could think something is wrong is if it's illegal or hateful, and it goes without saying that basically all websites regulate that kind of behavior. As I said before, there are indeed parts of the furry community I find to be weird, yet the community has sort of silently agreed to not interest-shame other furries because we are already such large targets of interest-shaming from mindless people who still think we're disgusting.
Thank you for reading my angry essay directed at no one in particular because everyone in this thread has been relatively chill so far.

They're like gay people. they can sit next to hitler in hell I'm not like them, I don't think like them, and for the most part, I don't understand them, so I prefer to shut up when these arguments pop up. I'm not confident in my current opinion, so I don't want to be forced to defend it.
Reading between the lines, it's kinda obvious what I think. What an oxymoron.
