When the Notre DAMN. was originally created, the french dudes were using the latest tech, the toughest materials, and the most modern style available to them at the time. Remember, ideally, this Church would stand forever.

So perhaps, instead of our children saying "this part burnt down when someone took a fat boof, and they tried to hide it from the cops LOL", they should say "it's amazing how, despite being a millennia apart, they both look equally old".

well ok when i put it like that, the first one sounds better, but you get what i mean. someday the modern age will become the ancient, and perhaps we should remind the future that we were here. that's what the christians did in the 12th century, and that's what we should do now.
