I personally am not scared of death because I don't believe in the afterlife. I think life ends at death.

hell yea im scared of death
Like imagine, someone just got married, got a raise at work, all the good stuff - and then they die in a car crash. Everything is taken away in an instant.
i mean i dont have any of those things but yea having everything i know and love taken away is a scary thought

Not really. I know it’s inevitable. However, I’d rather have a more peaceful death where I just die in bed as opposed to being mauled by a shark until I die of blood loss.

depends entirely on the circumstances. if i have some form of cancer, i'll gladly give death a good snuggle. i'm not suicidal, at all, there's so much i want to do and so many people and things i value, but not living in this current hellhole sounds relatively ideal.
in case of like a car crash or, like, an amusement park accident (or something similar) then god damn yeah i'm scared i'll fear dying. can't bring out all my morals when i'm scared to death- wait fuck that's a pun

I mean I'd prefer not to die you know, but I mean if it's going to inevitably happen then there's no point in living the remainder of your life in fear of it. I think I'm more fearful of the cause of death than death itself, like I don't really want a serial killer to kidnap me and chop all my limbs off to make alphabet soup out of my intestines. But if we're talking about natural death, I've got better things to worry about as a college student than whatever will happen to me in like 60 years or something unpredictable that may happen sooner than expected, stuff like *class speeches*
they say people are more afraid of public speaking than death i agree
now that is fucking scary

No, since it's inevitable. Just make the best out of life that you can because it's all gonna end for us one day or another.

Yes, the thought of dying has scared me for a while, but what scares me more is the concept death not existing — living forever. Some people get bored of living when they hit their 90’s, can you imagine living for 1000 years? Maybe you can. There’s a lot to do in this world, plenty to see and learn. But can you imagine living 1 million years? 1 billion years? I can’t imagine how god damn bored I would be if I lived forever. Death is a necessity, as scary as it is.

Not so much death itself as it is dying too early before I can do at least most of the things I want to get done. It’ll happen to everyone but I’m all too familiar with how quickly it can come, and to those who were far too young to have been stripped of the opportunity to do much of anything in life.

I would say yes mainly due to simply being uncertain if an afterlife really exists or not

I am because I don't really want to die before I've lived fairly long or in a disgusting way.
I've been doubting a little lately, but I'm a Christian still. Assuming my beliefs are right (and of course I believe they are), then I go to heaven when I die (which is great). But if I'm wrong and there is neither heaven or hell (no afterlife), then that's that - I have nothing to lose there, but everything to gain if I'm right.

Eh, as long as I have a chance to say goodbye, no.
Sudden but slow and painful deaths sound fucking terrifying tho.

Yes. I don't believe in an afterlife, and the thought of never thinking, feeling, seeing, or hearing anything ever again is terrifying. Even scarier is the fact that there is absolutely nothing I can do to stop it from happening to me, only delay it slightly.

No. I believe in heaven, so I believe that when I die, I will go there. Hopefully that’s true, I can’t say for sure, but I believe it’s true. I hope it is, cause being mentally dead sounds terrifying, or even worse. Imagine darkness for all eternity, no contact, no nothing. You are completely senseless, but you can still think... forever.

not really. firstly it's kinda obvious that people who believe in an afterlife wouldn't be scared of dying either way. not going to state whether i do believe in the afterlife or not but regardless; even if there is no afterlife death isnt really something that i fear.
to get the obvious out of the way, since the notion of death would dictate an absence of consciousness, i wouldn't even be aware that i don't exist anymore because awareness is a part of consciousness. it's like how i wasn't aware of the 13.8 billion years before i was born, and it'll be like how i won't be aware of the 13.8 billion years after i die. and since time is what our consciousness percieves it wouldn't feel like an eternity either; like how we don't feel the age and grandiose time-scale of the universe before we were conceived.
but while death is something i would like to avoid for as long a time as i can, i don't think that stems from a fear of it - at least, a direct fear of it. what does scare me about death is what is termed "the second death" - the passage of one's impact on the world from the collective consciousness. it is kinda solipsistic, but i do want to leave a legacy and impact people; even if its an infinitesimal amount it's better than being someone whose name is only etched in the annals of history or swallowed by the sands of time.
so yeah i don't think death is something i'm scared of or think much of anymore. as much as the world can be a meaningless place, i want to at least try and create a small amount of meaning for myself and for the people around me before i go, even if it's ephemeral or fleeting. i think that'd be nice at least
