So, a lot of people seemed to be disappointed with today's Direct. Likely because they didn't show Animal Crossing or something else. The Direct did have a few boring parts, but I think the best announcement is Super Mario Maker 2. Other cool ones IMO were the Link's Awakening remake, Yoshi's Crafter World, and Tetris 99. (a.k.a. Tetris Battle Royale) What did you think of it and what were your favorite announcements?

I'm so hyped for Mario Maker 2. The original Mario Maker had a cool concept but the flaws hindered the game quite badly, and I'd love to see a reworked version of it which fixes most, if not all of the issues the original SMM had. It also seems to have a bunch of new features which is good, because I think SMM was lacking a few important features (cough cough, SLOPES).
I'm also interested in how the Link's Awakening remaster will look like. The original one was pretty successful already, so who knows how good the remake will be. Some of the other games from the Mario dimension seem to be fine too but not sure how good they will be, however let's hope they will be also some fun and unique games.
I think the only thing I'm not a fan of is that they announced a lot of RPG games that really aren't my cup of tea. I guess it's a matter of taste but there were quite a few of these games, and for me they're not something I'm really interested in. Still, there are going to be some big titles this year. I'm glad that Nintendo is trying to make the Switch a console that will last for a very long time. It's something that was lacking a bit with the previous consoles like Wii U, as they were quickly overshadowed by other stuff.

Nothing particularly interesting besides Tetris 99, Deltarune port, and Link's Awakening HD, but that's just my opinion. I will say, though, that despite me being completely disinterested in the genre, Astral Chain looks really good.

Tetris 99 got me really excited. Obviously, it's a stupid idea, but it's so bizarre and uncanny that I actually love it and encourage everyone to give it a try upon release.

Tetris 99 is surprisingly VERY FUN. Mario Maker 2 looks absolutely amazing, Yoshi’s Crafted World is shaping up to be a great successor to Wooly World, Link’s Awakening HD has an absolutely fantastic art style and I’m very excited for that. A lot of JRPGs were announced, some interested me and some didn’t. The supposed main topic of the direct, Fire Emblem, doesn’t really interest me that much.
That being said, it makes me very disappointed to see people whining over no Animal Crossing or Luigi’s Mansion 3. Luigi’s Mansion 3 is the game I’m excited for most this year and I’m not complaining. Even still, they never promised anything on either of those games within this direct. Just kinda makes me sick that people are so unappreciative.
In my opinion, this direct was a very good one, and I can’t wait to see what Nintendo has in store for us in the future.

Super Mario Maker 2 looks AMAZING. The new mechanics that were shown look great and will really broaden many, many new possibilites for level creation. Tetris 99, whilst an odd concept is really cool that Nintendo's taken a spin off of the Battle Royale series. I'm also pretty excited for the new BOX BOY game as well since I enjoyed playing 1 and 2 on my 3ds.

The 3DS is even older than the Wii U, and honestly, after Mario Maker 2 comes out, the Wii U era will be pretty much dead as MM was the only game that really kept it alive (the rest was either remastered or ported to the Switch). So yeah, if you're planning on playing this game, you'd have to buy a Switch. |

I thought it was pretty good, SMM2 looks amazing with how much more is added. I'm liking how they're bringing new spins on Wii U titles that didn't get the attention they deserved due to being on a failing console, and not just porting all of them directly. Tetris 99 looks super sick and I would probably play it if I wasn't to intimidated with how I'm not that good at tetris. Astral Chain and FE3H look cool but I'll probably have to get into them to be more interested, and the Link's awakening remake has a strange artstyle direction that I'm really curious in.
But overall, I'd say that SMM2 is the most hyped thing I'm for right now.

Is what I would be saying if TEAM CHERRY DIDN'T RELEASE A TRAILER FOR A FULLY BLOWN HK SEQUEL THE DAY AFTER THE DIRECT HOLY SHIT I'M FUCKING HYPED AS HELL DUDE
