So a few moths ago, i opened geometry dash, and it doesn't run well. It runs at like 30fps for no apparent reason. Steam says that the game is running at smooth 144fps, but there is no chance that it actually is. The game ran at a smooth 144fps before this. I did absolutely nothing that could have caused this. My monitor is set to 144hz in my display settings. The weirdest thing is that when I run it on integrated graphics, the game runs normal, but when I use my nvidia geforce 970m that has worked fine for 2 years. I can't use the integrated graphics because I cant play high oject levels without lag. So I can either have a constant lag that runs horrible with my 970m, or have 144hz but not be able to beat the level ive been trying for 6 months. All other games work fine with this graphics card, so it must be just geometry dash. I have 2 monitors that are being run through ports that support 144hz (trust me i looked it all up) and neither works. Both are 144hz monitors, too. Here is everything I've tried:
- Uninstalling/reinstalling
- Verifying game cache
- Running the game in all windows compatibility modes
- Turning on and off vsync in game and in nvidia settings. Also changed smooth fix and all other settings that affect performance such as high capacity mode.
- Unplugging/replugging my monitors
- FPS hack
I've been to numerous tech forums but haven't gotten a single reply. I know this forum isn't the best place for tech advice, but it's all I have left. Even if you don't think your suggestion will work, any feedback is appreciated. Thank you!
EDIT: I just tried to download a cracked version of the game to see if that would work but it didn't. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the game onto a different storage device to no avail. Finally, went to my device manager and updated EVERY SINGLE THING THERE but nothing worked. If nobody can help then I may just have to wait until 2.2 comes out to see if an update somehow fixes it.
