Obviously 2.2 is going to have a large effect on gamemode portals altogether, with the ability to remove the portal bounds completely. However, there is an issue I've dealt with many times in the past, and that is where the game places the bounds when you enter the portal. Currently, the game just sets the bounds to be the nearest 8/9/10 blocks surrounding the center of the portal, rounded to the nearest block, but this only gives you a one block space to center your portal in if you want to have a specific bound. There should be an option for portals, in Edit Special, to select where you want the bounds to be placed. This would really help with making the transitions you want, rather than having to work around the shift in bounds, as it can sometimes cause some really bad transitions.

If you use a move trigger on a portal, when you enter the portal it will have the bounds that it would've had at its original position. This is as good a fix as we have right now.
