this is a really cool and good level. a few things i don't like though.
lack of visibility in alot of parts is a pain in the ass. yes, it might be relevant to the theme, but prioritize visibility over that. the stop motion fire is INCREDIBLE, even if it's copied from somewhere else it adds alot to the level. some of the gameplay is a bit wacky but overall good.
visuals are great, probably not as fun to play

In terms of decoration, this level is near flawless. My one big decoration gripe is the ship part just before the halfway point where you made everything dark except what was immediately around the player. So all I got to see was a lot of unnecessary black. On top of that, that part doesn’t fit all that well with the industrial theme that the rest of the level has.
My last issue with the level is a pretty subjective one. I don’t think that the song that was used suits GD very well. Again, I get that it fits the whole industrial theme that the level has going on but there aren’t very distinct beats that electronic music has which makes it hard to sync gameplay to the song. This resulted in the music being little more than background noise. It also doesn’t help that the gameplay itself is a bit slow and uninteresting. I think a grittier electronic piece would’ve still been able to fit the theme of the level while providing a better foundation for well synced gameplay to be built. I think something by xKore would’ve been able to fill this role fairly well.
Just a couple things to round this review or whatever out: the custom fire background is amazing. The animation itself is very smooth and I like how you had the darker red tone behind the yellow following the same animation to make the yellow part of the fire stand out more. It was a subtle touch but one that I appreciated. The end of level art was pretty great and the lettering as well as things like the gears in the level show good proportions throughout. Pretty great level overall and it would be criminal if this doesn’t get at least featured, if not rated epic.

I love how constructive you were about this owo I saw a lot of complaints about the visibility, I tried to keep it dark but I never keep in mind that my monitor is very bright, so for some people the level can be very hard to see. I chose the song because it was the most perfect core (and edgy) song. Also it was new and barely used, In fact I started the level in the first place because of the inspiration from the song. I always try to make my themes industrial, but this one was a slight exception, because i themed it to be metal and lava. So that makes the design of some parts a little bit off, because its my first time theming lava (and fire) in a level. The fire built from reference using the flame animation in the menu screen of castle crashers (Console edition)
And for the gameplay, I didnt design it to be exactly fun. I designed it to be satisfying and to make the player feel good when he/she rewatches their recording. for example, the wave at 61 is the "iconic" part in the levels difficulty (I tried to make it iconic but everyone pays attention to the ship decoration after) as stupidly hard as the wave is, it makes you feel and look like a beast to fit through such an impossible styled wave. Not only that, the gameplay always keeps the player tense. Theres no break in the level and you constantly need to keep your hand ready >:3
Last thing, the sync. I know the song feels kind of grindy and repetitive, but for once I did in fact sync my level. There are subtle changes in the song that the level does sync do, or maybe a change in percussion. A lot of sync comes from the percussion, like the spider at the beginning, or the ship after (because the ship swings up and down while the song does too if that makes sense lul) The song was more of a personal choice, so I shouldnt expect everyone to like it, but i wuv it ouo
BTW Danzmen said robtop has a hard time rating extreme demons if the creator doesnt have creator points, so this project might get swept under the rug like my others.
And thank you so much for your opinions, and I hope you all understand where I come from in design :3
