haha epic libtard troll it's just a toy store lmao Yes, because people won't feel sad over a marginal portion of our developing childhood being shut down. Clearly. And this isn't some random corner store that had a few toys. It's something that's scattered throughout the entirety of the world. It has locations in the UK, in the USA, it's not just the childhood for a few people that lived in a few towns, it's a company that used to be worth billions of dollars and literally stretched across the surface of the earth. So no, it's not just a toy store. OT: Shit man, this store was so fuckin' important to me all the way until very very recently. I remember going into this place looking for BeyBlades, YuGiOh, and Bakugan, that stuff was my shit. A few of my friends and I would go to Toys R Us just to see some of the crazy shit they have. Such a shame to see it go.

It's certainly sad to see them leave but at least I won't be getting emails about free birthday gift cards in the middle of April anymore (my birthday is in August) The location near my house was never terribly great so I didn't go there a lot, it's still going to feel weird having a gigantic empty building where it used to be. In Canada we lost Zellers which was a huge grocery store chain and there was a lot of good deals for everything there. That all changed when a company bought Zellers and then went bankrupt or something, so Zellers stores remained empty forever. I can tell ya, it’s really frickin weird to have empty stores all around. Now that I think about it, this happened in 2009 as well with the bankruptcy of Mervyn's (Walmart but located mostly in California). The specific one nearest to me was planning major expansions at the time of the bankruptcy, and as you can expect that didn't turn out to well. The building closed, got demolished a few years later, and only started having some townhomes built nearly a full decade later. It's pretty abnormal to say the least.

Bakugan, Pokemon, Lego, BeyBlade, MTG, Wii Games, so many memories of going through the aisles looking for whatever was hot among my friends at the time...
My favorite memory is when my grandpa took me to ToysRUs while babysitting me. Being the Lego nerd, I went straight to look at the Lego Millenium Falcon. It was 140 dollars at the time (much cheaper than Legos today, but still very expensive). And even though I didn't say anything, my grandpa carried it to the counter and got it for me. It had all my favorite minifigures from Star Wars, but more importantly it was my special gift from my grandpa. I still have it today <3

I only remember shopping there for board games a few times. But thanks to online shopping most traditional stores will close down in the future, I myself purchase 99% of my things online. It is pretty sad but times are changing.

If you want to go to Toys R Us, you've gotta go to Canada now. lol Actually Toys R Us still remains open in multiple countries. African and Asian outlets remain unaffected, while stores in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden were bought by Top-Toy.
