You know how we have Low Detail Mode as a checkbox you can check before playing a level? What if we generalized this to any amount of options that the creator could make? For instance, you could make an option for ultra LDM or one for fewer background flashes or something. This would be nice to have and easy to implement for Robtop. All the creator would have to do is make a new "option" from inside the editor, and select which groups it toggles/untoggles/spawns/unspawns. If there are too many options to display on the level screen, there would be a button to show a menu, page-by-page, of all the options the player can check (I doubt this would happen very often, but just in case). How does this sound?

Apart from no death effect, I can't find any potential uses. Ultra LDM?
tfw you've already got a remove shake option

Sounds ok to me but it would kind of make the level screen cluttered, as if it weren't already

Apart from no death effect, I can't find any potential uses. Ultra LDM? tfw you've already got a remove shake option Specific LDMs (like "bossfight LDM"), remove background flashes (like Distort's Galactic Smash does), options for the level's difficulty (this would especially be useful in altergame-type levels), there could be multiple different bosses and you could select which one you want to play against, 60hz/144hz bugfix options, maybe you could even choose the colors you want the level to be, the possibilities are endless really.

Sounds ok to me but it would kind of make the level screen cluttered, as if it weren't already That's a good point. Maybe it should all be forcibly hidden under a "show level options" button that pops up a menu of level options no matter how many options there are to avoid cluttering, placing the LDM into the menu as well. Since the LDM is taken out from the level screen but there's a new button to show level options, it would balance out.

I don't really like this all that much. We already have a shake LDM. I think adding another LDM would be kind of pointless.
