So this has been an issue since I first got GD on Steam when it was released. When I launch GD, VSYNC is always on for me because there aren't any issues with it. It caps at the 143-145hz range. The issue is when I turn VYSNC off, it instantly caps the FPS at 60hz.
No other game does this on my PC, which is odd. In fullscreen mode, it instantly turns to 60hz once I disable VSYNC, but in windowed mode, it displays 300+ FPS for a second and drops back to 60hz. Once the game is in this 60hz mode, everything is choppy, slow, and buggy. I have tried setting a "-novsync" option in Steam, disabling VSYNC manually in my graphics panel, and changing various settings in-and-out of GD. I downloaded the FPS bypass for the game and increase the cap above 60, the FPS meter did say I was going above 60 and 144hz, but the game was extremely choppy and slow. Like I said before, this only happens with GD and no other game.
Does anyone know of a fix for this specific issue? Or at least maybe some steps to troubleshoot and attempt a fix? It would be much appreciated if I could acquire some help!
Thanks!

Geometry Dash is designed for 60Fps. Since you're going over 60fps, it will possibly break some mechanics and physics. The reason why Vsync turns your fps to 144 is that Vsync locks to your monitor hertz. And Geometry dash is designed for 60fps when you turn it off, it goes to 60 since it's recommended
