The Monster Gauntlet is undeniably, as a whole, one of my favorite gauntlets. Better than the Shadow Gauntlet? Maybe, not sure.
As for the Death Gauntlet, there's one "good" level, then three "meh" levels, then one "fml" level.
EDIT: Finally got around to playing The Behemoth (pronounced "Beh-hee-miff/muff")
#1: Slam by Rafer
Am I the only one who doesn't like this level? The colors look contrasting to the point where they actually seem to go against each other than cooperate with each other. Half the level is trying to be a normal Rafer level while the other half is trying to be like a sci-fi theme.
On top of that, the actual bossfight is kinda shit. The design wasn't all that impressive (being basically one solid color with some facial features), and it could literally be beaten by straight flying the whole time.
The level was not completely terrible for me, though. The gameplay which wasn't in the bossfight was actually pretty fun, despite being way too easy (couldn't Rafer have just buffed the level to make it 8 stars?).
So overall, I'd prefer Monsteristic over this. I mean, am I okay with this level placing? Fine. But this level coming in first over Monster Mischief is kind of hard to swallow.

#2: OMG ALIENS by DanZmeN
I actually kinda like this level. The green gives off a nice alien vibe, and the gameplay is insanely fun throughout the entire level. There's some annoying parts in the gameplay that I wish would die in a hole, preferably a few transitions, but overall this was a pretty fun level.
The bossfight, however, was kind of a low point. The design was pretty cool and original, but the attacks weren't very good. It was just "lightning", "farosh", "lightning", "farosh", not great.
I did still enjoy this level for the most part, though. Not much more to say about it.

#3: Monster Mischief by MrKoolTrix
One thing I need to explain first is how I immensely overpraised MrKoolTrix in my vent on Empyrean, saying how his part was the only good part when looking back on it, it was probably the only part worse than Chase's.
But this level does everything right. The design is a classic MrKoolTrix style with a monsteristic color scheme which really compliments the backgrounds.
The gameplay in this level makes this one of my favorite gauntlet levels out of the seventy-eight in the entire Gauntlet history. The gameplay is fun throughout the ENTIRE level, even the bossfight.
Speaking of which, the art for the bossfight is incredible. Looking at it, I basically see a goofier, orange version of Mike Wazowski. He even has different poses, which are really cool.
And this level has lots of personality, too, and lots of things which make it so memorable. For example, at the end of the level, there's a red custom orb you have to press to open up a pit to kill the monster. I pressed it on my first run and was like "WAIT WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T PRESS IT". So I went back and pressed it, and what happened was pretty awesome. Not gonna spoil it though. >
So overall, I love everything about this level. The only complains I have about it are in the spider part during the bossfight, where you have to press the buttons. It's kinda hard to see where you have to go since everything moves so quickly. But fantastic level overall, and this should've gotten the $20 tbh.

#4: Mechanism by haoN
Uh...there's something fishy about this level, something that caught my eye when I first played this. I ended up figuring it out upon the Death Gauntlet, but I'll talk about it later.
This is probably one of haoN's better works. This level actually has a little bit of personality, unlike some levels *cough Extinction cough Desolation cough*. It has some monster-like block designs mixed with a metallic theme.
I thought the gameplay was meh. There weren't really any fun moments, but there weren't really any boring moments either. It's hard to describe how I was feeling when I played the gameplay.
The bossfight was ONE of the two fishy things I saw about this level. Once I played the bossfight, it was IMMENSELY obvious that the only reason this level exists was because haoN wanted another gauntlet level. It shows me how little he tried. Not because the design of the bossfight is lackluster and uninspired (although both those statements are true), but the bossfight only lasts for 15% of the entire level. After that, it goes back to its monster/metallic theme. I can't emphasize this enough.
This might sound weird, but I can sorta read into creators' intentions in levels if something stands out to me. That 15% stood out to me big time. It made it clear that haoN wanted to finish the bossfight as quickly as possible, then go back to doing his other theme. I'm not sure if he thought the bossfight was boring and he just wanted to get back to having fun or whatever, but this just caught my eye and I wanted to call it out.
I don't even care that a haoN level won, it still has decent gameplay and at least it didn't win money. However, I personally would've put Predator in the Monster Gauntlet and Mechanism in the Death Gauntlet.

#5: HellGate Menace by TheGuyIDon'tLike
Okay so first thing's first. 1. The name of this level is honestly just stupid. Part of me (the act-before-thinking part) wants to believe ChaSe just wanted to have the world "Hell" in his level because he thought it sounded cool. 2. WHY THIS SONG. I was annoyed enough when it was used in Magmatic Sanctuary, but to hear this again was just torture.
As for the actual level, the lag was nowhere near as visible (at least in LDM), although since I was given the option, I obviously used Force Smooth Fix becauseI'm pathetic the gameplay was pretty bad. It wasn't fun or enjoyable, and I just found myself annoyed throughout the level. There was lots of straight flying, basically.
The design of the boss theirself was fantastic, and the designs of a few of the backgrounds (like the bat cave) caught my eye as visually appealing.
And uh...that's it. The best thing about this level was definitely the art, but everything else is just a blur.

#6: Ghoul by DesTicY
Meh...another level that's just a blur. The bossfight looked pretty cool but not as cool as in HellGate Menace, and the gameplay wasn't anywhere near as annoying but still pretty boring. There weren't any parts that caught my attention, really. The design of the level looked pretty good, but it wasn't very notable or interesting to me.
Okay so the second fishy thing about Mechanism was that I remembered it being in 7th place, yet being in the same gauntlet as 5th, 4th, 3rd, and 1st place, despite RobTop saying 1-5 would all be together. I guess this is probably just because RobTop thought Ghoul was more death-themed and Mechanism was more monster-themed but whatever, I still thought this was something I should've called out. Nowhere near as bad as the first thing, though.

#7: Shuriken by Ferdefunky
Do you have any idea how happy I was when I found out a level with this song was getting used in a gauntlet? This is like one of my biggest guilty pleasure songs of all time.
As for the actual level...(sigh).
The design was just meh. The block designs were actually not very good, they were far too simple overall, being mostly a colored line.
The first cube gave me cancer (because of the bugs), but the rest of the gameplay was...fine, I guess. Nothing special though.
However the biggest "wtf" moment was when you literally fight a l i t e r a l f u c k i n g s h u r i k e n. That triggered almost as much as Rose's final words from TLJ. It was just a huge "WHAT" moment and I needed a second to recover from it. Oh and yeah, the gameplay here isn't very great. It was basically like most other bossfights. However, I did like how the Shuriken rotated a lot in both directions.

Pretty overrated level imo. While this is one of the best levels in terms of visuals (althought I don't know what the hell that bossfight design is, looks like Plankton's chum), the gameplay is not very great. I spent more time on this level than Adust because the gameplay was insanely frustrating, especially in the bossfight, and it was really hard to see what the boss was going to do.
There was also one part with blocks which appear and disappear which I THOUGHT I was going to hate, but there were thankfully arrows which indicated where you need to jump. Those arrows helped a lot.
My favorite background in this level has to be the blood cell background. It just looks really cool, and the block designs compliment it without being distracting. I also really like the glitches and the "recording" foreground. However, I was getting some Horizon/Mind Control vibes from those parts.

oml WHY IS THIS LEVEL IN THE DEATH GAUNTLET
This level is not remotely related to the gauntlet theme in any way. I can literally think of AT LEAST five better-themed demons off the top of my head.
This level is so unthemed and bizarre that I'm just left questioning why such an upbeat, happy, colorful level is in a such a dark, scary, mournful gauntlet.
Now what about the actual level? It is boooooooooooring. The gameplay was not terrible (although annoying in some parts), but the visuals were very bland and forgettable. Kitty was a great level not just because of its play on Hinds' style, but also because it has a distinct style of decoration with some different block designs mixed in. Adust just shoves together multiple (obviously) copy-pasted blocks which only have one style the whole level.
And the fact that I had to beat this normally, as a Weekly Demon, and NOW as a gauntlet is just annoying. I already had a hard time doing Mechanical Showdown three times, now this?
Sigh.

- Slap Squad 2
- Kotoruption
- Dead Lands (although I'd be more pissed if this level was in the gauntlet, at least it's WAY better themed)
- Saguaro (OSIRIS GD)
- Anatomic
- Darker Drop
- Fusion Flare
- Literally any Doom Gauntlet entry

#10: The Behemoth by JacobROso
Excluding the bossfight, this level is the pure definition of generic. While it's certainly better in terms of theme than Adust, it is still a pretty basic, ordinary level that does nothing special besides the decent-looking bossfight.
The gameplay, as always, is not special or fun and it's just boring to play overall. There's nothing interesting or unique about it besides the bossfight and maybe the song choice.
