Okay. I've seen a bunch of threads about similar problems to mine, but this is WEIRD. So I bought a new laptop recently, for gaming. And (for the most part) it's been running perfectly. Here are the specs:
CPU: intel core i5-7300HQ 2.5GHz
GPU: nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 (4GB vRAM) [Driver 391.35]
RAM: 8GB DDR3
Display: 1920x1080 60Hz
I installed GD the day I bought it and for a few days had 0 issues whatsoever. Then, out of the blue I started to get weird lag, where the game would start lagging and dropping to super low frame rates every second or so.
[EDIT: nvidia experience overlay still always says 60, so I assume it isn't actually a problem with performance, as barely any CPU/GPU are being used in task manager]
I figured maybe I accidentally touched one of the settings. I went through EVERY combination of GD settings (vsync, smooth fix, high capacity mode, etc.) and nvidia control panel settings (vsync, threaded optimization, triple buffering, etc.) and NOTHING helped with the lag. (This lag is in undecorated layouts, not crazy intense levels) Just yesterday it randomly was running smoothly, so I figured just to leave everything as is. I come back today and boot my laptop up and BAM lag is back. Didn't touch a single setting since yesterday. I'm honestly at a loss. The only thing left I can think of is possibly battery optimization by my laptop, but I have all of those settings set to "Max Performance" So idk.. Any help is appreciated
One more thing: When it was running smoothly yesterday I had it unplugged when I launched GD, then plugged it in after playing for a while and it was still smooth so I have no clue what's going on.
