I can't completely understand this suggestion as I am not a webmaster, but if one could simply upload a music file and place a link into GD from that file, think about how easily someone who mastered the system could upload copyrighted music.

Secondly, this wouldn't be the most user-friendly feature for all of GD to use as it would be difficult to understand if one isn't a webmaster.

Welcome to "Who's song is it anyway?", where the sources are made up, and the copyrights don't matter.

There's a reason why there isn't a system where you can just upload any music you want and have users download it. Free use is one thing, but almost every creative license prohibits redistribution, which is exactly what you would be facilitating with a system like this.
