Uh I was bored so I decided to judge another levelCosmic Nostalgia by ElFanfinfo76System Genre: Normal SoloGameplay - 1(x2)So this level certainly has some...interesting gameplay. Let's start from beginning to end.
The first 16% of the level is a slow Cube section with very few jumps, jumps which are slow. This makes for quite a boring introduction.
After that is a faster part, but with some awkward timings. This sorta includes the ball part as well. And the robot. And the cube after.
Actually, that's all I really have to say. The timings are fairly awkward throughout most of the level, and the parts that aren't are pretty unexciting. On top of that, there isn't a single ship segment. And that's the reason this level's gameplay gets a 1/4. It's because it shows a lack in variation (the only vehicles in the entire level are cube, ball, and robot, and LITERALLY nothing else, not even a mini portal). On top of that, the cube gameplay is mostly orbs while the robot gameplay is mostly platforms. The ball part is better than both, but it still has some weird timings and blocks that are hard to see, and it just doesn't make up for the rest of the level. Transitions - 2Uh...yeah. When I'm referring to transitions, I don't just mean between two vehicles. I can also refer to how long you have to react to a change. Since there are only three vehicle portals in the entire level, I went with the latter for the first time since joining the forum...and...it's not great. It's really hard to see where you're going in most places, ESPECIALLY the robot part (some platforms turn you upside down when you step on them, and you have to look very closely into the block to see a blue jump pad). Even some places in the ball part are like this.
Now, as for the former option, it is DEFINITELY better. Aside from an irritating white flash, the player has plenty of reaction time in all three portal-transitions. While there weren't that many, that's still technically all of them. This time, it WAS enough to raise the score from a 1 to a 2, which admittedly isn't nothing. Synchronization - 3Okay, so your video was clearly laggy. It gave off the impression that the sync was awful, but when I played the level, the sync matched up better. There were plenty of timings I weren't happy with (a few orbs and jumps were inserted in the wrong place), but overall, the sync is pretty good.
And...not much else to say about it. 3/4. Colors - 3I want to feel like this level's color scheme was inspired by another. The best level I can think of for this is Carnation by IlhamAulia, which uses a near-identical color scheme. If you did use it as inspiration, then you clearly made your own spin on it, because it looks absolutely original (there's lots of white in it, mixed with blue and black). And I absolutely love the 1.0 blocks changing colors from blue to black constantly. That was absolute genius. The reason this has a 3 instead of a 4 is because the blue and white kind of make the black/negative space stand out more than it was clearly intended to, making the level look a lot emptier visually. On top of that, I don't like the solid color blocks in the ball part. Decoration - 2(x2)Yeah, when I think about this level's emptiness, I'll think of the actual decoration rather than the color scheme. The backgrounds made up for some of the emptiness, but overall, I could really feel it. This is emphasized in the two cube parts, since they're about 80% black in color, whereas the other two parts look better, but not great.
Aside from the emptiness, I also have to bring up the block designs again. The ones in the first cube part (>17%) look pretty alright, but at the same time, clipped to the point where they just look weird. But the inside of those blocks look fairly decent.
The block designs in the ball part are similar, only with a few solid color blocks I wasn't too fond of.
The robot part looks good at first, but gets repetitive after a while.
So there's things to enjoy in this level's decoration. And that's the saving grace. There could've been more of that, though. Effects - 3The backgrounds in the first cube and ball parts? Awesome. I absolutely LOVE the way this level utilizes everything, such as the P blocks (the little white floating circles) in the background, and the fact that some of the glow travels faster than other glow objects. I also love how in the ball part's background, the glow circles around the diamond, fades, and then RESETS.
The robot part is a really big drop in the quality, though. The background looks at first, but becomes BEYOND repetitive and just boring to look at.
I'd normally give this a 2, but the level of originality and creativity just absolutely forces me to give it a 3. I might change it to a 2 later, though. Because while it is creative and original in most parts, that doesn't exactly equate to being good in quality. And on top of that, if I was only doing quality alone, this would easily be a 2, but I think having other factors is also important. Conclusion:So is this a good level? Uh...sure. It's alright. As for the design, I'm just in awe of the creativity of some parts, particularly the ball part and the first cube part. But that being said, there's still a lot of parts I wasn't too fond of, particularly the gameplay and the emptiness of the level.2 = 1(x2) +2 +3 +3 +4 = 2(x2) +3 = 17/32 - Decent
I honestly think this deserves to be on the higher end of the Decent levels list, but it's not quite Good-worthy for me. Now, there's clearly lots of people who support you in the comment section, and for good reason to, because this level honestly has huge amounts of potential. And you have huge amounts of potential. I would recommend to work more on filling in some of the empty space (although I suppose most of it was to make the background stand out more) and playtesting your level every now and then to check if you have good transitions.
@jy2000 CreativeGuy What do you think? I appreciate you looking below the spoiler, but there's nothing here. Except a time-waster.

Sorry for not noticing the tag sooner I'm a dumb :v. Anyways yeah, pretty much everything that could be said about this level has been said, but I have a few small thingies to add of my own. If we're going to focus on the main issue though, it would seem to be the emptiness. Try adding some filler obstacles and platforms just to fill up the foreground, and always make sure to fill up empty spaces like the section at the end. That part was basically empty except for a few lines. Use the plethora of decoration objects given to you, there's an entire editor to experiment with. The block design is kind of outdated and could be a little more complex to add to the level. And always give enough reaction time in your gameplay, or just avoid using blind transitions in general. I agree with the placement as well (Decent). I'm pretty outdated on my placings, but I'd say if you fix up some of the things listed the level could end up as a High Decent or Low Good. Anyways, review hast been approv'ed, moving to ze Artificial Decent. bad pun i know, plz no kill me
