First of all, I don't usually play insane levels, so some things I say about the difficulty may be inaccurate. This is also my third review, so maybe it's not that good, but I hope it helps
Gameplay: The first ship part is ok, nothing special here. The ufo part is also ok and the last portals are synced to the music so that's good. After that, we get into the wave part, which is also ok until we reach the mini wave. I find the mini wave part pretty annoying because when you go up there's not much reaction time. Anyway, the part when you are up is a bit well synced because the song kinda goes up there too. Besides the little remarks I made on synchronization, the rest of the part is decent synced. Then, the spider part, this one is quite good and funny. It's also well synced, in general is one of the best parts of the level gameplay-wise. However, after the transition to the ball, it gets slightly worse. It's still well synced, but this part is pretty annoying because of the timing on the yellow orb at 26%, which is really annoying because you need to get into the jump pads really early to continue the level. Otherwise, you will almost always crash with the roof, this would be solved giving a bit more space and would reduce the amount of unfair deaths, I think. After this, there is a bit more of ball gameplay, which is fun, and we get to the cube part. In this part the song changes completely, and so does the level. The jumps are also really well synced which makes it a really enjoyable part. A little remark I want to make is that if you hit earlier the pink orb at the beginning of the part (the one at 33%) you will still get past the spike but will crash later with the other two spikes because you touch the ground a little time. That's quite annoying, maybe moving the spike and orb slightly to the right would fix it. The change of speed in the robot part fits the song good, and the part is again well synced and really enjoyable. I feel like the jump at 39-40% is too precise for an insane, but I don't usually play insanes so I don't really know. Anyway, the cube and robot parts are one of the best parts of the level in general! After the robot part, there is a transition to a ship part, which is extremely annoying. This is because the screen turns white for a second to make the transition, but instead of waiting until everything is visible, you need to avoid spikes while the screen is still a bit white, which makes it really annoying and makes it feel unfair. This is even worse because there is little space to get past those spikes, so you can die a lot there, without really seeing what killed you, or without having a lot of time to react. In general, the ship part is really annoying and one of the hardest because there is little space to move, but it would be ok if everything after that was easier, unfortunately, that's not the case. If you finish the ship part, you get to a memory ball part which I enjoyed a lot. The sync here is really good, it's an easy part to rest after the ship, but you still have to memorize it to complete it, so it's good for an insane level. The two dash orbs at the end of the part must be clicked as soon as you can because you will crash with the spikes if you don't. That's nice but maybe you should give a bit more time to click the dash orb (just move the spikes really slightly up). The ufo after that also syncs good and is funny, so no complains here. After that, the wave part is quite annoying because it gives you little reaction time, but after that is good. The sync here is also decent as it continues going faster with the song. Also sometimes, at the transition to the cube, you touch the cube portal but crash anyway. An easy way to fix this would be to make some more floor at the left. The cube part after that is easy and syncs good with three jumps at the beat of the song. After this, we have the final bossfight, which is the most annoying part of the level by far. At the start of the bossfight, you have to go up quite quickly, giving not much raction time. Also, the space to move is quite limited because of all the projectiles that are on the screen. The rest of the ship part is slightly annoying because you can't see the projectiles until they are almost in front on you, if they were slightly slower or the boss was more to the right it could have been better. The ufo part is good and has good sync, definitely the best part of the bossfight. The wave part is better than the ship part but when you get past the big projectiles it is quite annoying because it is quite difficult to find a consistent way to go. Also, the lasers that the boss uses in all the bossfight are really annoying because there is no warning and they just appear suddenly. The final part at the wave is extremely annoying because there is a bug that makes you die on the lasers that appear. This is even more annoying because this is the very final part. After that, the level ends.
Decoration: The first part (before the spider), is well done. The block design is good and the custom BG is amazing, I liked it a lot
. Maybe I missed some more air deco, specially on the wave part, but I'd say it's overall pretty nice. On the spider and ball parts, the block design is still good and the custom BG or the saws don't actually get repetitive, probably due to the fast pace of the level until now. However, the lack of air deco is more noticeable here, and it seems a little empty. Anyway, the level it's quite fast so the lack of air deco isn't that bad, I'd think. After this, we have the slow cube and robot part. Here there is a simpler block design, that's not necessarily bad because it lets you see the BG, which is really well done. We also have the orbs and portals with less opacity and darker colors, which fit pretty well. Obviously, the main decoration of this part is the custom BG, but again, some more air deco would have been good to make the level feel less empty. Little details like the saws are nice, and the spikes aren't really bad because they are simple to let the custom BG to be seen, but just using the BG for decoration makes the level feel quite empty as I've said before. This is a mistake you have through the whole level, and I'll talk about it later. It's also worth saying that the song changed completely at the start of this part, and so did the deco, so good sync there! When we reach the ship part, the song returns to how it was at the first part, and so does the deco. We have a different custom BG than the one in the first part, but it shares the same vibe. I must say, it's also amazing
. The block design is really good and it changes with each structure and the black "spikes" (I don't know how they are called) with red lines are nice. I'd have liked a different spike design, because it's the same as the one on the first part. A different spike design, but with the same vibe (like the BG) could have been better. Again, the lack of air deco makes it feel somewhat empty, but there is some in this part, even if it's just a bit, and that helps. The ball part that comes next has a block design with varying colors that it's pretty good. It's also one of the parts that feels less empty, because the ball doesn't really give you a lot of space to make air deco, and the orbs and spikes can be good. Then, we have the ufo part which has a good block design, again (I must say, how you change the block design at every part makes the level feel not repetitive, well done). However, the custom BG, which is the same since the ship part starts starts to feel repetitive, and the completely absence of air deco makes it worse. Exactly the same goes for the wave part, nice block design, no air deco, and the BG. The cube part it's a bit better because the structures cover most of the screen and it has a little deco , too. Finally, the bossfight. It repeats the same custom BG that was used at the beginning, but it doesn't really feel repetitive until the end. If there was some more air deco it would probably feel better, though. Anyway, the lack of air deco isn't that bad here because of all the laser and projectiles, and the boss covering the right half of the screen. A bad thing about it is that so many projectiles and things make the gameplay quite confusing, so it's not a replacement for air deco. The black "spikes" that you must avoid do a good job telling you the path, and filling the screen, so that's nice. Lastly, the pixelart for the boss random but it somewhat fits the atmosphere of the level, I think. The only problem is that sometime there are lines that can be seen between the "pixels", you can fix this by placing a "pixel" between other two. Let's say you have a "pixel" at space 1 and another one at space 2, this would make the space between those two "pixels" to be seen sometimes in the levels, and it would be ugly. To prevent this, you just need to place a "pixel" at the space between the other two, let's say space 1.5
Pros:
-Good, not repetitive block design
-There are custom BGs all the level, even if they can be a bit repetitive sometimes
-Decent and good gameplay on some parts
Cons:
-Air deco is totally missing
-Some parts have confusing or annoying gameplay
-Transitions are too sudden sometimes
Conclusion: The level in general it's decent, I think it has some potential but some mistakes makes it a pretty annoying level. I think the best of the level are the custom BGs, you are really good with that. However, you should try using more air deco to complement it, and make a really good decoration overall! The worst of the level is the bossfight in my opinion, because it is too annoying and confusing. Anyway, I hope this has helped you, if you have a question or feel like I wasn't detailed enough at some parts just tell me and I'll be glad to answer you, I think you can improve a lot in the future
Score: I'm not really good at this but I'd say it should be on decent levels.
