so essentially I encountered this bug where I can’t view anyone’s accounts for some reason (includes inactive players like Zobros and Lunarsimg). I’m still able to search, play and download levels, but I can’t check profiles (including mine) which is pretty odd.
also I can’t save at all, the save loader loads for 10 minutes before announcing "backup failed", or just doesn't try to save at all and goes straight to the "backup failed" message sometimes

Since I'm assuming that you have internet while trying to view profiles, the only explanation I can think of is this:
Your username or password (or maybe both) have been changed. If you didn't change them, then someone else did.. aka you've been hacked.

If you recently gave your account to someone for The This, they may have been using it at the time you went on, which may cause problems. Not sure though.

nope, not hacked, and I was able to save a few days ago (that was after Electric logged out of my account btw). I'm more concerned about not being able to save than not being able to view profiles.

Have you tried stuff like refreshing your login? It sometimes helps with these kinds of issues.

Have you tried stuff like refreshing your login? It sometimes helps with these kinds of issues. If I refresh my login, I’ll lose quite a bit of progress since my last save (70 stars and 2 demons is a fair amount for me :/) |

If I refresh my login, I’ll lose quite a bit of progress since my last save (70 stars and 2 demons is a fair amount for me :/) Try getting into Appdata/Local/GeometryDash and copying your files as a backup. They're data from PC so I think they should keep your current stats. Never tried it like that but I think it should work and it's a way to prevent losing stats. Unless you're playing on a phone, then the path might be much different.  |

Well, AFAIK there's a way to backup files like that on phones but the directory is different. However I am not sure if it's possible to do it without root. I didn't play on phone too much so I can't tell because I didn't usually bother about backing up my files on phone.

I had a save problem where my save took a long time and said "backup failed" so I tried again and waited and it worked. ik this doesn’t help

If you can’t view other peoples profiles or yours it’s probably because of the servers being down or your internet.
