I mean Octopus has 3 correct plurals, Octopi, Octopuses and Octopodes (pronounced ock-top-uh-deez)
It's right I guess. It's just natural for me.
Now British English pisses me off.
Spellin' shit with s instead of z adding random u's and saying shit like "gareage" and "zed" and shit. Like get your act together. You guys are supposed to be the classy ones but I guess not.

Well pronunciations are a problem but honestly every language has its fair share of problems. I'm learning Spanish and some stuff seem really stupid or overly complicated. Of course I'm probably underestimating how many problems are in English because I'm a native speaker but there are still problems in all languages. And honestly changing the language would do more harm than good. I'm not up for relearning years of English when I'm already not that good at it.

I don't understand what you mean by "exceptions"? You mean, like irregulars? Because I'm pretty sure this could apply to ALL languages, if yes.
Now if you're referring to just English rules, like silent letters and "I before E except after C", then yeah, I'd say that English doesn't even follow their own rules sometimes. But I'm already pretty fluent in English, so I'm not looking forward to learning any other languages.

You guys are supposed to be setting the example for the world but I guess not. Just making fun of how the things you point out with British English aren't really problems with the dialect and more just differentiations in spelling. Also, the British being "the classy ones" is a stereotype; they're not "supposed" to be classy... (sorry for the triple post but I think it's necessary since each post addresses completely different things)

English has some funny pronunciations, but for the most part, conjugating verbs is very easy. (i.e. I eat, you eat, she eat s, we eat, you (pl.) eat, they eat, and it works similarly even in other tenses) Compare it to Chinese, which doesn't even conjugate verbs at all, but instead has some occasional odd sentence structure. It also has "meaningless" characters that I explained in a Discord chat some time ago. Romance languages have the lovely masculine/feminine thing going on that seems impossible to memorize as well, so I'd say every language has its own fair share of weirdness.

Fortunately I have a good memory, so I can remember most of the "exceptions" to the point where it becomes kinda natural.
But like willflame said, there are much more complicated languages to learn (or so I've heard).
Also I love the fact that words like "cacti" exist.

English is one of the few Romance languages that excludes accent marks over letters.

does it allow me to commnicate to you? yes. therefore i don't give a flying toss how it's rules work, i can communicate from person to person, simple. Nice job mistaking "its" for "it's", despite being a native :^) (Also does should have "d" capitalized, same with "yes" and "i". And also, instead of the first comma, an 'if" would be more appropriate, since it doesn't really make any sense with the comma there.) Romance languages have the lovely masculine/feminine thing going on that seems impossible to memorize as well, so I'd say every language has its own fair share of weirdness. Well, while it depends on the language, you usually just have to add one more letter which is usually the same, so you just have to memorize the feminine & masculine words and (those letters too, of course)then, well, it won't be exactly easy (I guess), but it will be easier, thus making some progress on the respective language. Although, in languages like French, most of the times, the feminine is (pronunced) the same as the masculine, obviously not always, but still. English is one of the few Romance languages that excludes accent marks over letters. English is a Romance language ? K, so after stating my opinion on these people's posts, here's my opinion on this thread('s question): Why's everyone (acting) like English is even hard (for a language)? Every language has its exceptions (and depending on the language, a lot more than English does) and as for English, a few exceptions don't make the language hard or anything.

Well, i guess it is, but still, English is my favorite language (i know three languages btw) and although all of the exceptions suck, i actually got used to them, since i've been watching english YT, i'm writing english RIGHT NOW and through all of that trial and error, i've finally mastered this language.
So to answer the question, yes it's full of them, but i don't really mind.

Wait 'till you learn German I've actually been studying German for a short time, and so far I don't think it's any worse... I mean Octopus has 3 correct plurals, Octopi, Octopuses and Octopodes (pronounced ock-top-uh-deez) It's right I guess. It's just natural for me. Now British English pisses me off. There is no such spelling as 'gareage', not sure where you got that from.
