Ok so I was thinking about how to make the leaderboards better and here is what I have.
1. Ban people with global band from level leaderboards.
People that have bans from the global leaderboard have those bans for a reason. However yhese people still have access to level leaderboards. People who play legit should be given the slots instead of people who are presumed hackers. It would make the leaderboard system more fair. It would also make hacking less rewearding and give people who do hack a punishment. The downside to this would be that legit players would not be able to share their acheivements but this transitions well into the second idea.
2. Leaderboard mods.
This is definitely not a brand new idea but this relates to the previous idea. Leaderboard mods would be able to ban and unban players they see as legit or not legit. However to avoid power abuse, multiple mods have to vote for a player to be banned/unbanned for the action to happen. The addition of leaderboard mods would be more intimidating to hackers, would catch more hackers and would clean the leaderboards.
So what do you guys think of these ideas and how they would play out if applied in game?
