Hey guys. I've been on vacation for the holidays, and right now I'm at my grandparent's house on my laptop. I use this same laptop at home, just that my monitor and keyboard aren't plugged in. Anyways, I've been trying to play Geometry Dash but here it hasn't been opening. What happens is that the steam sign shows the message saying it's preparing to open Geometry Dash, and then the box closes and nothing else happens. I don't know what's happening, I've never had a problem like this before. Can anyone help me?

as copied from the common issues.
Find (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Geometry Dash) and find "GeometryDash.exe". Right click and go to Properties. Go to Compatibility and press "Run this program for Compatibility for". Press the box and select any of the options below (Windows 95, Windows XP etc.) Open GD. Once you open GD, close it and go back to the Properties window of the file. De-select "Run this program for Compatibility for" and try opening GD. It should work again!

nono, you're supposed to set it to windows xp or 95. it does not work still... the problem is that the game doesnt even open in the first place This thing happened to me, try resetting your computer completely, but remember to backup first. |

This thing happened to me, try resetting your computer completely, but remember to backup first. what does that mean? Doing a factory reset, it's where you reset a system back to it's original state: e.g: when you first buy a phone in a shop, or other electronics. |

Have you tried right-clicking on GeometryDash.exe, then Run as Administrator?
That should fix the problem.
