Ever since GD softlocked my computer 3 days ago, turning off v-sync has been messing with my game. Usually, turning off v-sync looks bad in only a small rectangle area on my screen, and barely affects my vision. Now, it is encompassing anywhere from half the screen to the whole screen, sometimes abruptly switching from the former to the latter. It's making it extremely difficult to play the game, especially when it gets so bad it starts to lag (aka every other attempt)
If I turn on v-sync, the game is fine, though there is the input delay that keeps me from playing the insane demons that I am practicing.
I've never heard of this happening to anyone, so I'm not very optimistic.

Have you tried uninstalling then reinstalling the game? That can sometimes fix a variety of issues. Also, are you in windowed or fullscreen mode? In the info for V-Sync it states that it could cause issues in windowed (pretty vague), so maybe going into fullscreen if you aren't already could fix the issues you're having.

Thanks for the feedback! Sorry I was kinda late (I'm on vacation). I am playing in fullscreen mode, and ive tried switching it between the two, and both would have the same impact. I will try your suggestion as soon as I figure out this WiFi

It looks laggy but it’s not actually in-game lag, it won’t affect the way you play. You have to get used to it, I get screen tearing all the time.

The problem isn't the fact that the screen is tearing, but the fact that it suddenly went from mildly annoying (and easily adjustable) to really crazy. It didn't look like actual lag before a week ago, despite having played with v-sync off for a few months now.

So nothing is working. I've unistalled and reinstalled GD, but no change. I'm also getting audio problems only in the game. Usually the music will be a little softer than it should be, but once every 10 or so attempts it will get loud for the whole attempt. I've had issues with my headphone jack for a while but I'm pretty sure this is a little different. Maybe something is corrupted in my files? Idk. If I can't get the screen tearing back to where it was before, I might have to play with v-sync on, and the input delay it comes with. Not the end of the world, as I can still comfortably beat easy and medium demons, but it still prevents me from beating levels at the top of my skill level.
