A second more minor update. I added a new section called Related Threads and updated the Advanced Comments idea with Arcane 's addition. Feel free to submit more ideas you have. I'm always trying to update and improve the list every way I can. This is some things I have to say to Espii and DubstepJoltik . First Espii. That idea largely coincides with my future addition of Advanced GUI. A super improvement to the GUI that would make GD a lot better for both mobile and Steam players. That is almost exactly how I imagined the settings to work though! I will be sure to either credit you or add you as supporter of the idea when its fully added. Thanks!
Now DubstepJoltik. Unless i'm mistaken a full collab system is being added in 2.2. Obviously I don't know how its gonna work if it really is being added but i'm sure however it works it will turn out better than what we have now! If there wasn't a high chance of it being added to 2.2 I would add it to the list for sure. For now though i'm keeping it off since its almost guaranteed to come soon. (The same goes with the idea of a scale objects trigger. I would have added it if there wasn't a high chance of it coming in 2.2.) Idk how much you're working on it but I'd like to hear your perspective on the GUI. So please hurry up (maybe I can help?)

Made some minor changes! Added more related threads as I keep seeing more pop up. Also 'untagged' RobTop since thats against the Community Suggestions rules but not against Lists rules. Even tho I did say I would treat this like a list, because it hasn't moved there I have to follow the Community Suggestions rules. Maybe that will change someday?

!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~! Another update post, this time combining the changes from the last two updates. The first one was me making some minor changes to text and the overall look. Also decreasing the sass a little bit. The second one was a bit bigger. I added a whole new idea: Improvements to the daily/weekly levels, and added a new related thread by Ezel .
Seems like this list has gone kinda dormant. I'm hoping it wont die this fast, so please if you have any ideas or comments feel free to post them below! I read everything everyone posts here and try to respond when I can.

What i'm waiting for in an update is a button that minimizes the "level complete" window, so people can see the end art in a level. The window would appear again after pressing Esc

I would like to see an in-game collaboration system in Geometry Dash, as well as an in-game verifying system. They kind of tie together in my explanation, you'll see why. There are two ways to do collabs. The first method is to have someone start on the level and pass it around to everyone. The AB method can also fall under this type of Collab. For this example, we will call it The Bunpu Method. The Bunpu method can work, but it requires a lot of uploading and passes and all that shit, and things can go wrong. I know this because I've been in a collab before where something went horribly wrong. Someone lost the pass for copy and went inactive. Also, people can mark the level as unlisted and it would disappear from existence. I think it would be so much better to have a collaboration system where there only thing that could go wrong is if you delete the level. The second method is when you collect the account credentials of one person and upload it on their account. We will call it The Akaunto Method. This can work if you make a new account specifically for uploading these types of collabs, but it can be dangerous because you're giving people permission to everything. They can do things such as delete your account or make spam levels, etc. A collab system would eliminate this problem entirely because you aren't putting your account credentials and content at risk. Now, what exactly would this system look like? I think the method, whether AB, at the same time, or individually, depends on personal preferences. I think having it so everyone can work on the level at the same time is the best solution for me. Everyone can fix parts they don't like. The leader (the host) can also kick people from the collab if they are misbehaving. The host can also promote others to collab mods so when they're out, the other collab mods can kick people. The collab is finished, but the host wants someone else to upload the level. The host can transfer their host role to whoever they want to upload the level, but everyone who worked on the level will get the same amount of CP. Now, I know some people would prefer to have a collab using The Bunpu Method. While an AB collab would probably be impossible, I came up with an alternative method for making the parts one at a time. The host starts the collab and can send it to everyone he/she wants in the collab. The unfinished collab will be sent to everyone one at a time. Person A receives the collab from Host. Person A finishes his part and sends it to Person B. Person B finishes his part and sends it back to Host so it can be verified and uploaded on Host's account. Host decided he can't verify it and transfers the host role to Person C so it can be verified and uploaded. Everyone, including Person C and Host, would get CP. There's plenty of pros and cons, but I think the pros outweigh the cons. The verifying system would work in a similar way. The owner of a level, collab or solo, can send a copy of the level over to someone of the owner's choosing so they can verify it. Then either the verifier or the owner would upload it, and both would get CP. I actually thought of a similar idea. An in-game collaboration lobby would be good and all builders may access the level. However there is a problem, I believe this problem can get serious. CP inflation is a possibility (I am not sure if that makes sense). Yes CP accessibility will be improved and you may think it's good. But I think people will stop building solo levels and start building 7 seconds part to gain creator points. Creator points will lose its value and it won't feel special when the level gets rated or featured.I still think the in-game collab thing is a creative idea but it should be implemented carefully.

I don't want replying in comments. The comment section would just be more cancerous and hateful. When posting a comment, there should be an option to disable replies (also the level creator should be able to disable all comment replies).

Ive been planning to make this post for nearly a year now! Thinking of more and more ideas that would make GD even better than it is now. Hopefully you think some these ideas are great too! If you have any ideas to add, or something to add to an idea, please leave it down below and I may add it! Note that this isn't just some list of features that RobTop should add. It’s supposed to be a well rounded and fully fleshed out idea, with how it works and what it may look like considered. This is for ideas that would change the way GD works in some aspect, not just some simple idea, so no game modes or portals. Also note that for each section every item is in order from most to least needed/wanted. (In My Opinion) Someone said I should tag RobTop. So I shall! RobTopGames I summon thee to the Big Ideas List! The ListMajor AdditionsAbility to change main menu and practice songsThis is rather simple addition that badly needs to be added into the game. The ability to change the main menu song and practice song within game. I feel it would be simple to do too, just like changing songs in the level editor. Just input the song ID and boom! Different song. It needs to be done because the current songs really drains the fun from the player. Hearing the same boring thing over and over really gets boring and angering.
Another great idea inspired by the amazing white hat hackers of GD is just to simply have the option to have the practice song to be the levels song and cut in the correct location when you die or restart. If its possible for hackers to add it then its possible for RobTop to add it. (If this is added I would still like to see the first part added as well for those who arn't so keen on having the song reset every time or want some variety in their game.)
To find out how this would work with my Advanced GUI idea read: Advanced GUI #x
//Talk about how if the second part is added it will be in the immediate options in the level when the game is paused. More scoresA rather simplistic idea is to add more things to the scores page. We currently have people ranked in stars and creator points, why not have even more. Also have global scores for each of those too not just stars. The two things I wanna see the most is a list by demons completed, and a list of user coins collected.
To find out how this would work with my Advanced GUI idea read: Advanced GUI #x
//talk about how that screen will look, having those 4 tabs then a switch option to look at global best and then yourself
Improvements to the daily/weekly levelsDaily and weekly levels was a great idea to add to the game, it made GD far more refreshing, and for the most part I would say it has made the game feel more active. Yet it has a few problems. One is that it dosen't support people with different skill ranges and often marginalizes people who don't fit that specific levels skill requirements. There is an easy way to fix this that for the most part wouldn't be too much extra work, thats if RobTop keeps making a huge backlog of levels for daily/weekly like he already does. (Another possibility is for RobTop to allow elder mods to send levels that could be daily/weekly to him, that way make him not have to go hunting for them at all.) So my idea is to simply have 3 different difficulty levels to choose from. Once you select one for that day/week thats the only one you can beat, the others are no longer available. That way you can't just get a bunch of free stars from beating them all. I feel the best difficulty ranges for this is as follows. This could obviously be changed to whatever RobTop thinks best. (Another crazy related idea is possibly making a weekly or monthly auto level. The reason why I think this should be done is because RobTop has killed the appeal of making auto levels in 2.0+ so giving people more motive to make them is something thats badly needed in GD.) Daily: 2-4* / 5-7* / 8-9* Weekly: Easy Demon / Medium-Hard Demon / Insane-Extreme Demon Idea inspired by Ezel 's A change to the weekly demons. To find out how this would work with my Advanced GUI idea read: Advanced GUI #x Advanced commentsThis addition is split into two different but equally important ideas. With the brand new 2.11 comment system I feel these additions would greatly improve commenting in general. Replying to comments A very simple idea is to allow users to respond to other peoples comments. The way it would work is kinda like a separate comment string from the main comments. For example if I respond to someones comment they can remove my comment just like the verifier can remove comments. Replies can keep going indefinitely too. There are many ways this can be designed and added and I could go into it in Advanced GUI, but I feel thats unnecessary. Updating comments A very simple addition is a button to edit a comment you have made. The button for this would be to the left or right of the delete comment button. This would be useful for whenever you make a comment then realize something is wrong or you wanna add something. I make that mistake a lot then have to wait 30 seconds just to fix it by rewriting it. Arcane added: My ideas that aren't on your list:
- You should able to search for a level when the name is a number. Right now, if you type in the number, it will only try to show you the level with that ID. However, some level names are comprised only of numbers and are therefore impossible to search for. - Under the idea of "advanced comments": Being able to tag people in comments by their username. They would receive a notification on their profile if someone tagged them. - Also under the comments idea: You should be sent a notification on your profile if someone replies to your comment.
Also, an idea about your list, lol:
- Since I think lots of people will send in more ideas like I'm doing right now, you should organize the "user submitted" category in the same way that you organize the main list; or even just add the submitted suggestions to the big list if they're good enough.
I agree with this, you should definitely receive notifications when people reply to you. Being able to toggle if you can see those replies in your own comment screen would be useful too as then you can easily find and reply to those specific comments without finding them in the level comments. Also being able to tag people would be incredibly useful too. That way lets say you tag the level creator you get a notification for it and they can easily see that entire thread of comments to reply easily from notifications. An option to disable those notifications and possibly also reply notifications would maybe be needed tho since i'm sure big name GD players would get spammed otherwise. Especially RobTop. (As a side note, I may do that idea with separation user submitted ideas into separate categories. Im not doing it this update but if I get more user submitted ideas I may do it. Thanks for the recommendation!) Idea liked by: GPM1000 Combining GD Meltdown and GD World into Full GDI have an amazing idea to do this. If people have the full version of GD then have a button right on the main menu screen that switches the entire game from GD Full to GD Meltdown to GD World. That way we don't need all 3 versions and people on Steam can play Meltdown and World. It would also make collecting those achievements and having multiple accounts simpler. (Possibly do this on just Steam if adding on all three versions is too much work.)
Texture pack supportThis is something i'm not gonna go deep into even tho I could. Just add a setting to add texture packs, much like Minecraft can do. This is something that is so large tho that it would require its own update for entirely so maybe lets hold off adding this for now.
Minor AdditionsSetting for modifying the respawn timeThis is a simple addition that would add a scale into the settings that can modify the players respawn time for all modes. (Not just practice mode.) Having the option to change it from 0.0 seconds to 2.0 seconds max, with increments of 0.1 or 0.05 seconds depending on whats simpler or better.
To find out how this would work with my Advanced GUI idea read: Advanced GUI #x Coins in practice modeSomething that I really want added is the ability to see the collecting coin and other collecting animations in practice mode. It really pisses me off when I cant see a coin and have to actually play the level or use the copy function just to find where it is. In addition to this add an option in settings that would force coins to have to be seen at 100% opacity and be placed over anything on screen only when in practice or noclip mode. That way bad level creators cant get away with hiding coins.
Ability to use multiple start positionsTwo ways to do this. The first is when you place a start pos you get a little icon thats has start pos on it under where the magnify options are in the level editor. Inside that button you can find all the start pos's in the level and edit their settings or set it as the main start pos. Main meaning when playing the level you will start there not the closest to the end start pos. You can also rename start pos's in the respective start pos's options. The default name is what % it is placed at in the level, or StartPos#x if that is better somehow. The second way to do this is when you open a level with multiple start pos's then you get a prompt that asks where you wanna play from. Starting at 0% or at a start pos if there is one. Just like the first way you can still rename start pos's but this time the default has to be the %, otherwise the player would have no idea where StartPos#x is if they forgot. burrito1 added: For your "multiple start positions" idea, maybe also add something about having two different start positions for duals, that would be convenient
That is a great idea burrito1. I think the way that should work is whenever you place a startPos, the game checks where the last dual portal was placed and check if its an open portal. Then if it is it creates a second start pos one block above it labeled startPos2, (the original changing to startPos1.) That way you can freely move the two start pos's. It is also good to add an option to change between dual startPos and regular startPos. That was in case something goes wrong it can be manually changed. Another thing to consider is bugs, for example a dual startPos when there is only 1 player. That is a simple fix, just make it so the main player always spawns at startPos1. For the opposite where there is a dual with only 1 startPos, just treat it like it is now, spawn them both in the same area with opposite gravity. Setting to see hitboxesA rather simple addition. Just have an option that can be turned on in the level editor that will show every single items hitbox. Kinda like how keys and other collectables have it. This would make it easy to know how large your character is and how other things like spikes and saws will effect you. Option to remove an objects hitboxThis is something that if added would be optional in the object settings. for example making a saw that can be phased through. This addition would allow for designers to use more hazardous objects as well as the non hazardous ones. Implementing a safeguard to deleting levelsAnother simple addition is to add a modifiable code to delete a level you have in your create section. This would be great to safeguard from people accidentally removing ether own levels better and also make it difficult for other people to ruin your game by deleting all your levels because of the passcode associated with removing them. The passcode can be modified in either the account screen or in settings, only able to be seen or changed after you enter your account password.
Advanced % indicatorHonestly 'advanced' ins't really a good word. Just have an option to show the % sign in the level editor along with the level itself. That would make finding things in the level easier. It will also be handy if adding the multiple start pos's idea.
Important item search in the level editorHave a button that brings up a pop-up menu where you can see the % locations of important items like coins, start pos's, collectables, and possibly speed portals. This would greatly help as often time I download a level but cant find the coins because they are invisible. So having this would be handy as then i can see where those coins are with no problem. ScrollA very basic feature that would greatly benefit both Steam and mobile. That is to scroll back when you have typed something to edit text you have written without deleting everything after it. For mobile devices, specifically the iPad lineup, it would be handy to have the two finger cursor gesture. For all other mobile devices allow the user to tap on a part of the text thats written to move the cursor there. For Steam its even easier, just use the mouse click to move the cursor, or use tap if its a touchscreen PC. iPad Pro supportThis only relates to likely 0.04% of all GD players, but the Apple iPad Pro has been out for nearly 3 years now and there is still no iPad Pro support in GD. The two things that need to be added are support for the new built in keyboard that comes with the iPad Pro, and the drag/drop function added in iOS 11. That would be incredibly kind to add.
Controversial AdditionsFree copyThis is one of the top 5 most needed things in the game, the ability to freely copy any and all levels. Now again your thinking i'm crazy, well i'm not. This would have to be added very carefully if added. This is how it needs to be done. Give the player an option when publishing a level to do have one of three things. Note for all of these there is no password and there can never be a password, every level is free to copy. Free Re-Upload What having free download is now. It would allow the user to freely download, edit then upload the level with proper verification with no problem.
Only levels with free copy turn into this upon update. No Re-Uploading You can freely download the level but under no circumstances can you re-release that level even with proper verification. No matter what you change.
Only levels with no copy at all turn into this upon update. Request Re-Upload Freely download the level but you can't re-upload the level unless the original creator(s) of the level give their expressed permission to do so. To request re-upload you must verify the level then when you try to upload it says you must request permission first. You can send some text when requesting permission too add context. When you have requested it the publisher will see it and can also play your level and check it over, then either decline, edit, or accept. If declined the level goes back to the person who copied it making the level unable to ever be re-uploaded, a note can be sent from the publisher why too clarify. If its sent back with edit then you can still request again in 24 hours after some changes are done to the level, again a note can be sent back saying why or what needs to be changed. If accepted the level is granted permission and the person who copied it can upload it at any time unless they edit it.
Only levels that have copy but with a code turn into this upon update. NoclipI know your thinking that i'm crazy, well there is some huge benefits to adding noclip. It would be like practice mode so you cant verify the level. It would play the proper song but allow you to go through all blocks. It would make recording noclip previews much easier for YouTubers. It would also mean people dont have to download noclip hacks that automatically make them suspicious. Using the built in noclip would not be worrisome at all. Just think about it, all the positives of noclip without the hacking element to it.
NotificationsThis is a feature that would be exclusive to Windows 10, iOS, Android, and other things that support notifications. It would have an option to add notifications to GD that would notify you every time you have a 4/24 hour chest to collect, a new daily/weekly level, or when there is new news like the servers updating or other things. This is minor but I would greatly love it to be added. Advanced GUIThis is a massive WIP that will be released as time goes on. This is my number 1 problem with GD so I will be going in immense detail about it here instead of in the Major Additions area.
User Submitted AdditionsThis is a list of ideas that you guys submit that I support. They can very on importance but are in no specific order other than date of addition. My response may be in a spoiler at the bottom of the idea. Espii said on the topic of Featured and Epic levels: Featured levels should get categorized by mods. Eg. "art" "memory" "simple (noob-friendly("generic"))" "effect" "design" etc. - idk Their rectangles should get different colours, if you know what I mean.. When you have a list of levels, their info (title, song, rating etc.) is divided in rectangles, their BGs should have different colours. So if you scroll, you'll see what kind of level it is by colour, instead of having to play it. This would look really cool IMO Another issue: The "epic" rating system should be changed. COMPLETELY. What I think Rob had in mind, is the epic levels getting more attention from the average mobile/casual player. So he rates noob-friendly levels "epic". There should be a new rating altogether, with a blue (instead of yellow) glow around the difficulty icon/face. These are the featured levels that RobTop thinks are suitable for the average casual/mobile player. -Featured levels will be called "rated" levels from now on; -the new rating will replace the featured levels (they'll be called featured); -then epic for the really outstanding levels (and I think they should be voted for by moderators, to give mods more importance) (all current "epic" levels should be downgraded to featured, though some of them aren't noob-friendly or are REALLY epic worthy, so that's another thing mods can vote/work on) -RobTop can "rate" levels that are good, but not epic worthy nor noob-friendly. (worth 2CP) -He can feature noob-friendly or "generic" levels to give them more attention by casuals than rated ones. (worth 3CP) -And he can rate really good levels epic (Hinds' or Desticy's levels for example) (worth 5CP) -Starred levels will still exist for levels like Buff This etc. (worth 1CP) -Everyone will still have the same amount of CP A problem with this system is that there will probably be less and less attention for levels that are "just" rated (rated as in featured levels, right now).. I think this will actually encourage creators to make their levels noob-friendly, so I think this would be good. I'm not sure though. So, once again: -Starred levels: no glow, worth 1CP, troll levels (Buff This, Buckle your pants, Russia madness) -Rated levels: yellow glow, worth 2CP, for good levels but not noob-friendly (bad gameplay, lots of objects, unfair/confusing) -Featured levels: Blue/Green glow, worth 3CP, for good levels that are noob-friendly (simple/basic/predictable gameplay, good transitions, not laggy/frustrating) (note: the only difference between these ratings is their noob-friendliness (so mostly gameplay)) -Epic levels: Fiery glow, worth 5CP, for really outstanding design levels that have good gameplay as well. Basically levels created by actual pro creators (this will include levels that may not be noob/mobile friendly (e.g. high object count) this rating is for levels with high QUALITY) I should probably make another thread for this though, I just felt like putting this here, lol.. I also don't know if this is clear, I tried to put my thoughts in words to the best of my ability PikaBlu22's ResponseI 100% agree on everything you said. Epic levels have no value today and featured levels are useless. It is also very angering to me that the only person doing the verifying is RobTop, (this may have changed in 2.11 with Elder Mods.) I say this is a great idea that needs recognition! I really hope RobTop sees this and implements in in some way, you clearly put a lot of thought into it, went in far more depth than I would have. Related Threads Other InformationNote to the forum modsI will be treating this like a list, not like suggestions. So depending on the circumstances it may be better fitting to move this thread to the list section, if deemed fit. (I will be following list rules too, so whenever I add/edit something I may post something here to give it a boost to the top if needed.)

So my idea is to simply have 3 different difficulty levels to choose from.
