Hi there! I'm Dubby! <3 I'll be reviewing your level, Surface, using the USFE Volt-o-Meter System (Solo Ver). Long story short, the scoring goes in letter order: U -> S -> F -> E, but if you want the full details, click here. Gameplay The gameplay is not great. There's lots of odd timings for an intended 3-star level, and there's a few issues overall with the playtesting (such as being able to skip the Wave portal and gaps that have not been filled in). The Ship part is basically just up, down, up again, and the Wave part which is at the mini-drop lasts about three seconds. There's not enough, that's the problem. The level is simply too short and has too many auto sections to qualify as good gameplay. Also, this level's gameplay isn't very fun either. It's not bad, but it's just somewhat boring. The only orbs I counted in the entire level were a mini-spam at the beginning of the level. There isn't really any upside to this gameplay. It's pretty short and dragged-out, kind of like Weightlessness in comparison. U
Decoration The decoration would probably be considered relatively good by me if we were in 2.0, but it just feels really outdated now, in 2.1. The colors are very simple, consisting of nothing but green and a little bit of black/red, and then there's one part with lasers that flash different colors, but it just ends up looking really weird, especially with the Z layering issues. The block designs also feel outdated, consisting almost entirely of the preset striped blocks the move diagonally.
I'm not a huge fan of the coin designs. It's basically just single-color blending, and it looks more like a circle than a three-dimensional coin. Also, the counter at the top of the screen should be set to Z layer T3, and they should fade on Alpha instead of just completely stopping. Just a suggestion. That's why I'm here, right? U Miscellaneous Let's start with the synchronization. I'm just going to be completely honest when I say the sync is terrible. There was no attempt whatsoever at making the level's gameplay or design sync with the song, with an exception being the one Cube part with the flashing lasers. The Ship and Wave parts especially, there's almost nothing contributing to the sync. U
Conclusion This is one of those really sad levels where I just couldn't really find anything I liked about it. I might have liked it more back when the standards were lower, but I really just am not a fan of this level due to how outdated and simple it looks. I don't think I'd be very proud of this level being played by thousands of people had I made it. You've got some work to do. I highly suggest watching some tutorial videos on how to do core and tech design, because it seems like you're into that kind of stuff. Needs Improvement

Yep. I agree to this with the graphics and gameplay. I’m experimenting with many new things currently. Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll go back and work on ig some more, make the gameplay better, etc. I’ll also go look up some tutorials on YouTube. Thanks!

Gonna have to agree. It's pretty short, the gameplay isn't really that dynamic, some strange color combos, and basically everything Dubstep said. Definitely room for improvement. Moving to NI.
