My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1. I have tried verifying the integrity of game files, and I have tried reinstalling the game. I restarted my computer shortly afterwards, but no luck.

It's only now that I got this kind of problem. List of things I tried: - Updating DirectX - Changing privilege settings - Deleting the "fonts" file - Updating Microsoft Virtual C++ - Updating video drivers Still unresolved in 2.11

I don't know if windows 7 is able to play geometry dash. Try updating to the latest windows, then reinstalling GD. See if that works.

Did you download any malicious software? I’ve seem that this can cause the exception code you are messaging to appear.

I don't understand what you mean. The thing I copy-pasted were details that Windows gave me about the crash. I'm gonna follow your advice anyway. I'm starting a virus scan now. It's been a while since I haven't done one anyway.

UPDATE: Virus scan came out clean. I don't think it's an issue with that.

As far as I'm concerned, it only scans Windows application. It wasn't so useful.

I tried above method, but the crash still persists, but with a different crash report:

I would also like to add that I run DirectX 11, and I have installed the Windows SP1 patch that brings some of DirectX 11.1 features to Windows 7. What else is there to do?

This crash is caused by a fault in a .dll file for Cocos2D, which is used to power GD. There are several other people noting the same error in one form or another, and the methods of fixing that usually worked were these: First of all, the main cause for this is your Windows version. It could be files in Windows themselves, or the compatibility settings your program (GeometryDash.exe) are running on. You could try upgrading your Windows version. Some users are reporting that the game didn't work due to Windows files, as I pointed out above. Or you could try running the game in a compatibility setting made for another Windows version. Open the game files from Steam, and locate GeometryDash.exe. Right click the game and go into properties. Find the divider ''Compatibility''. First try clicking the debugging button to check for errors. Then, try turning on compatibility mode for Windows 7. If that doesn't work, try running it in compatibility mode for Windows 95, or some other old Windows, then setting it back to, say Windows 10, or Windows 7. That should, somehow fix the error. Give me a shout if I fixed it!

I've tried all compatibility settings, but none worked. The debugger said it was an incompatible application. Upgrading my Windows version is the last thing I want to consider.

I would say just to upgrade your windows. We've given you several possible options so if nothing has worked an upgrade may be necessary.

I'm not paying 119$ for a 3$ game. I'd rather play other games that are free and work for all OS versions. If there are no other options, consider this problem unresolved. This is unacceptable. RobTop needs to learn to fix his game.
