Intro: Heyyyy. It would really help if you also posted the name of your level and your IGN, but I guess just ID works. I found a level with the ID you posted. If this is the wrong level, let me know immediately.
Volt-o-Meter System: USFE Level Name: Sky High 2 Creator(s): Hoang Nhat Minh (best username ever)Level ID: 37612347 Song: Moment of Truth by Namice [ID: 669255] Requested Difficulty: 4* Simplified System: U -> S -> F -> E, or reverse alphabetical order . I manually decide which board this level should go in. It's not determined by the letters. For more information on the exact rating system, go to this page.Gameplay- 0-10%: This Cube gameplay really annoys me. There's lots of unnecessary moving objects (jump orbs) and whatnot. However, at least it is actual gameplay. It's not Dont Rate This Level tiers of annoying, but it's just pretty obnoxious. This part is about 5 stars alone imo. S
- 11-21%: The UFO section has pretty mediocre gameplay. It works like a normal level, but it's pretty boring gameplay. It's basically just, 'Go up' and then 'Go down' and repeat. S
- 22-33%: Pretty above average Ship gameplay. It's certainly not perfect, but at least it's not legitimate straight flying. This level's gameplay reminds me a little bit of ReTray: easy, but not afraid to be a little bit forceful. F
- 33-44%: I don't really know how I feel about this Wave gameplay. I don't really like it too much. It's basically the exact same as the Ship gameplay, except with the Wave. I think it would be better if there were some D blocks. Getting a little bit sick of seeing people do the Wave gameplay in a Ship setting trope. That being said, it's, yet again, being a little bit powerful. S
- 45-56%: Pretty slow gameplay transitioning from buildup to drop. It's pretty fun. I would probably have given it an E if there were some gravity portals. F
- 51-68%: Alright gameplay. It's better than the first Mini UFO section, but still not enough for an F. There's a little bit more coherence, plus the Wave part is pretty nicely done. S
- 69-100%: This drop is seriously the most annoying thing ever. The Ball part is just absolutely irritating with the maximum number of Move Triggers possible. The Robot part is slightly better, and the Move Triggers aren't as annoying here, but they still are a pain to deal with. This makes the gameplay more like a chore than fun. U
Transitions- 9-10%: These transitions require lightning reflexes that are next to impossible to do on the first attempt. At least there's a flash before them, though. It makes them seem less randomly cut off. U
- 33%: This transition is pretty sudden, but the player can easily see it coming thanks to the text. However, I think there could've been other ways to do it. Ways that didn't seem so out-of-place. This is also a highly used trope that no one has ever really liked. U
- 45%: Same as the 9-10% transition, only this time, you have to keep going blind until you get to the teleporter. It doesn't take long, but I have crashed because of this before. This time, there is a flash to darkness instead of white. U
- 56-66%: Again with the lightning reflexes, only this time, slightly slower with a mild half-baked chase scene before it featuring the dragons again as well as some jump pads. Also, a title card that's really just glow and text. S
- 93-94%: You had a good scare out of me here. You made me think there was more. ._. It syncs good enough with the music and it's not cancerous since it's at the end. S
Synchronization- 0-10%: The sync isn't very good in the first Cube part. The timing is just really off. For the first 3%, it's pretty good. Sadly, 4% and onward is pretty behind. S
- 11-21%: There was absolutely no attempt at all in the sync. There is a background flash for every high note, but that's literally it. (Also, the second flash is pretty late.) For this long 10% of a level. U
- 22-33%: Great sync. The Ship part syncs to the song surprisingly well. F
- 33-45%: Awful. There was no attempt at all here. Man, I'm having lots of issues with this one Wave section. U
- 46-56%: Not horrible sync. Again, it's trailing a lot, but it's certainly better now than it was before. S
- 57-63%: Pretty bad sync. The jump pads are obviously copy-pasted and there's no clear effort. U
- 69-100%: The sync isn't very good here. The gameplay is pretty behind on the song in both the Ball and Robot parts. U
Colors- 0-10%: The colors consist of dark colored blending. There's no variation whatsoever, but at least the colors don't look completely horrible. It looks like what they'd normally look like in a generic 2.1 featured level nowadays. S
- 11-21%: Here, there's a little bit more variety in color. Basically, just some added blue with white flashes every now and then. Not a very stellar job done there. S
- 22-56%, 67-100%: There is a little bit more variation here than in the first Cube section, but not by much. They still look pretty dull and similar to every generic 2.1 featured level. Maybe even 2.0 in some cases like Promises by Adiale. S
- 51-60%: It's really similar to the first Mini UFO section, but at least you were smart enough to not put spikes of the same color as the BG this time. S
Decoration- 0-10%: This level has pretty decent decoration, but it's not very noticeable. If all of it was removed, I wouldn't have even realized it. However, at least it's there and it's not completely empty. S
- 11-21%: The decoration is certainly better than before. The block designs all look different and the background looks kind of nice and well made. Be sure to pay attention to continuity, though. During the transition, it's possible to see under the level. I was unsure whether to give this an S or an F, because I've seen decoration like this in featured levels. For the sake of variation, I just chose F. F
- 22-45%, 67-95%: This part has better decoration than the first Cube section, plus, technically, a custom background, even if it's just glow. It looks a lot better and way less empty here than most featured levels. F
- 96-100%: This dedications page seems pretty out of place. The text is just...there. The color is just blending with...I don't even know what. I don't usually judge the Dedications portion of a level, but I thought I'd let you know anyway. Unscorable
Effects- 0-10%: The way the Move Trigger is used is really weird. The movements would be so much better if there was some sort of easing. It just looks very choppy and cut off. This is my least favorite scenario when it comes to trigger usage. U
- 11-21%: The easing used in the Move Triggers here is pretty weird. It's just such a weird way to move. I think it's Ease Out? I've never really liked that easing because it just looks weird. However, at least it looks decent and not very choppy. S
- 46-56%: The dragons...I could've done without them. They just seemed so forced into the level, especially with them not making an appearance until now. They don't look all that bad, but it just seems really weird to have them in the level. I already mentioned them in the Decoration section, though. Because of this, I'm marking this as Unscorable. Unscorable
- 67-100%: The Move Triggers here are absolute cancer. They make the gameplay dramatically less enjoyable. U
Final Thoughts ScoreDecent (Not Star-Worthy): - There's a lot of black text in this review, but there is also a lot of bronze, when you really look at it. I think this level did do some things right, like the colors, for example. I would never want to see gameplay this atrocious in a star-rated level, but if it were to be fixed, I think I might change my mind.
I see potential in you, minh. Really.
